I'm disappointed Congress passed this version of the census bill. For one thing it adds a week period before a federal election when citizens are not able to deregister. I believe it's unnecessary to lock doors to exit a game. People should have the right to control their own lives.

Considering AZ v Peebs (II), that provision might be unconstitutional, though I will personally not sue on the topic of registration again.

Either way in my opinion the votes of people who deregister during an election should still be counted, much like how if you die the day of the election after voting your vote still counts in real life. Of course, an election lasts 72 hours in Atlasia, not 1 week.

Sorry for my complete lack of activity in the last 2 days. Before I was doing a lot of stuff with Coronavirus with writing bills and trying to organise and coordinate houses of congress and hopefully have a joint session.

Due to real life issues and generally being a little bit sick of hearing about coronavirus I took a breathe.

I'll be back to normal activity levels tomorrow.

The Senate should reject the Parking Protection Act - this is the type of issue that should be left to the regions to decide, not the federal government.

It really needs to be up to the specific locality or metropolitan administrative division, IMO. Part of my motivation for running was to assist where this forum's demographics tend to leave blind spots. It's pretty apparent that a law such as this will cause parking lots in areas such as Downtown Los Angeles to be sold off for more profitable ventures, causing a cascade of more pressing issues. Unfortunately, this bill passed before I became a Representative, but I would also have significant concerns about unauthorized parking in reserved parking for persons with disabilities, among other problems that could be identified.

Actually I agree with you on that, I was just thinking if any level of government in Atlasia should monitor this, it would be regions instead of federal. But even more local makes the most sense, we just don't have that in the game. Hopefully we can successfully lobby Congress and/or the President to reject this.

Challenging this frankly ridiculous and dictatorial decision. It is no more impractical than the existing Army Corps of Engineers - a highly skilled and trained non-warfaring force that assists military and civilian communities through projects and advising. It is frivolous only if you believe the destruction of the American wine market - brought on by the global pandemic as well as unfavourable weather conditions - is a good thing.

Tell us, Mr. Speaker, why do you hate Atlasia?

I concur with Congressman HCP's objection. This bill should come to the floor.

I agree with Rep. Ted Bessell. I have been targeted by this frivolous "frivolous" designation in the past and it's time to end it.

As three Representatives have objected to the Speaker's ruling on the SLOSHED Act, the bill must be brought to the floor.

The bill will be introduced soon enough.

How is the president able to appoint a new VP when there is no vacancy?

"to appoint, with the advice and consent of the Senate, the vice president in the event of a vacancy in that office; (Amended February 2019)"

I suppose the "vacancy" is assumed when Ses announced his intent to resign. Perhaps some more specific clarity could benefit, but there's no short supply of confusing or grammatically incorrect aspects to the constitution, from what I've been able to determine. It doesn't help that the wiki seems really outdated.

When I first ran for office one of the first things I noticed was an affect vs. effect inconguency, though I assumed it wasn't worth pursuing as a full amendment.

What is the current "green" cards(legal citizens) and naturalized citizens per year allowed yearly into our country? I'd like to see massive reduction in these numbers as it is hurting our people and lowering wages for our workers.

Legal immigration reform is a bill I'd like work on, but I just need to know current levels.

Come out of the Shadows tied some of these levels to a SoIA determined formula for economic need in a given sector or at least something along those lines.

I think Labor since passed subsequent legislation though.

What happened to my immigration reform bill? Seems like it passed but the House never debated it?

In the Senate Congressional reform resolution or bill, the Senate is voting on something with a section to modify House rules. I don't know if the House was consulted on these changes. I was not. So the House will receive this and be told what it needs to change. It's weird to see the Senate vote on something that includes House rules.

What are the days the federal legislature is closed? I think there is a law that says what days we are off. (unless it was a regional law)

In response to Tack posting the new CR: I am 99% sure we can get the budget passed and signed within 72 hours, and maybe less. Good to be safe by getting the CR ready but just letting y’all know.

Just FYI: I’m aware that the noticeboard is behind by like two days. Planned on figuring it out today, but — surprise! — I spent the evening building three bikes for my neighbor’s grandkids. Go figure. So, don’t get your panties in a bundle just yet. All will be fixed in the morning.

There's only one reason that casinos operate; they mean to take your money.  Nevertheless, if a casino promises you something (in this case, for a legitimate win), they should have to deliver on that promise.

The sliding scale subsidy is available to everyone according to income and age, so it should be much lower especially with a public option in the mix.

I don't understand the worshipping by Congress of a former citizen name olawakandi. Unless this user is known under another name I don't recall this person so for the last 8-9 years has not made huge things in Atlasia. I have not seen a justification of great realizations made in Atlasia before that. The only thing I read is the user was registered for a short time. Besides I don't like when people name places or holidays after players.

Shame Congress want to keep out people from Atlasia by increasing requirement to join. I barely post outside Atlasia so with new rules it would be hard for me to join. I gues you will attract only one kind of player. I guess it favors inbreeding and not good for the gene pool. Players will bring their fights and opinions on the different boards inside Atlasia, with things that have no relation to the game.
