What if Reagan started his political career earlier and JFK lived, and Reagan got nominated by the GOP in 1964?

See the actual 1964 results...maybe with a flip in Utah, Idaho, and Florida.

I disagree , Reagan being a two term governor of California will be significantly more electable than a Right Wing Senator of Arizona.Goldwater who spent nearly all his time in the Senate in the opposition, is much easier to attack than Reagan.  The reason for that is because when the Democrats attacked Goldwater for being an extreme right wing nut job , it worked in large part due to him not implementing his policies in a state , or being part of the majority party in the senate for a significant  part of his career. For Reagan if they try that attack , he can just bring up the economic numbers during his time as Governor and say the polices you are calling extreme have proven to work in the largest state in the union .

Pres. John F. Kennedy (D-MA) / Vice Pres. Lyndon B. Johnson (D-TX) - 337 EVs
Actor Ronald Reagan (R-CA) / Sen. John Tower (R-TX) - 201 EVs

Reagan is seen as too conservative for the nation at that time, but performs better than Goldwater.

Reagan does much better than Goldwater, but loses everything except for some Western and Plains states. George Wallace runs as a Dixiecrat  third party and wins AL,MS,LA, and SC.

What happened to Lyndon?

He's dropped from the ticket as John M. Bailey and Robert F. Kennedy headed up an alliance against him.

The maps look dramatically different depending on what you mean by reagan political
Career started earlier

If you mean he is a two term governor he gets close to winning

If he's just a senator or congressman he just does a little better than Goldwater

I think it's already been mentioned, but Reagan wasn't governor in '64. He became governor in '67.

This has already been accounted for:

It would have been closer without Kennedy's death IMO, but still a comfortable win. Reagan's likely opposition to farm subsidies destroys him in the Plains, and however sympathetic he may try to be to segregationists, a Southerner is likely to run third-party without Kennedy's martyrdom or a Republican who can point to a vote against the Civil Rights Act. Can also see Reagan overplaying his hand with red-baiting and demanding escalation in Vietnam.

President John Kennedy (D-MA) / Vice President Lyndon Johnson (D-TX) ✓
Activist Ronald Reagan (R-CA) / Fmr. Congressman Walter Judd (R-MN)
Fmr. Governor Ross Barnett (I-MS) / Congressman Bob Sikes (I-FL)
