Isn't it getting passed McCain's and the Turtle's bedtime?

Cutting taxes on the wealthy is their cocaine. They'll be up all night for this.

Now the Senate bill has the AMT coming back.  But raises the AMT exemption from married/singled $86,200/$55,400 to  $109,400/$70,600.  This pretty much moves the threshold for AMT hitting from AGI of around $180K to around $300K.  The medical deduction threshold made 7.5% as opposed to 10% of AGI for 2 years.  This threshold was a lot lower but was made 10% under the Obamacare law.

This is actually fairly good policy.

Yes, because if those two voted differently, the outcome of the vote would be totally different.

It was Durbin?!

So Collins was a Yes on 1720, and Carper, Warner, and Durbin were Nos.

It may not, due to the offset from corp taxes, but we shall see.

However, Rubio-Lee's prospects are not looking too great even then. It looks like they may not have been able to get the number of Democratic votes they needed.

Why the hell does an amendment to a reconciliation bill require 60 votes?

Wyden, responding, argues the bill does not go far enough.

And Wyden raises a point of order against the amendment.

Rubio moves to waive.

60 required.

Vote begins.

Democrats need to weed out scum like Warner who can't even guarantee a 2/3rd vote while making massive changes to Social Security & Medicare. So much for bipartisanship.

Ugh. I was hoping Democrats wouldn't do this, that they would treat any positive change as a good thing.

No, but instead, they all vote against, rather than passing it and putting pressure on McConnell.
