Julian Castro still seems intent on running, but no one seems interested:

Democrats salivating over AOC is proof that both parties have a volatile base that would embrace a Trumpian figure.

LOL, is everyone you don't like a Trumpian figure, even if they're a progressive 28 year old Hispanic female bartender?

Nope- I don't like Bernie or most congressional Republicans, but they're not Trumpian figures. What I mean by that are sensationalist figures who just spew bombastic, unrealistic platforms and act like children towards enemies, real and perceived, which imo AOC fits quite well.
What enemies is she antagonistic to? Medicare for All is unrealistic? K.

Joe Crowley. And a federal jobs guarantee is unrealistic. AOC clearly is a very proud DSA member and the DSA is pretty damn open about wanting to end capitalism in the future. Face it, AOC loves facts just as much as our crazies. The deplorablification of the Democratic Party has started. American politics will become even more dysfunctional, but atleast I'll have Schadenfreude Smiley.

Bullock, Castro, and Ryan are all attending the Iowa State Fair this week:

I feel like a Tim Ryan or Steve Bullock would be strong in the GE but would probably just be a VP nominee to like Kamala Harris. Julian Castro needs to learn that literally, no one would vote for him.

I don't think Warren will run if Biden and/or Bernie are running. If she runs I think it's a sign that neither Biden or Bernie are running. Booker, Harris, and Gillibrand, I think two of the three will run. I think we will see a few governors run as well. O'Malley and Hickenlooper are the most likely in my opinion.
There will likely be more than two governors running.

She was in Florida recently campaigning for Gwen Graham. She's made no indication she's running, but she's hitting some big states

I met Gov. Hogan when he was coming back from the National Governor's Association meeting in Santa Fe two or three weeks ago; I was coming home from southern Colorado, and we had the same flight back. It was Southwest so there wasn't assigned seating; I got to sit right behind him (well, I was middle seat of row 6 while he got row 5's window seat). He slept the whole flight so I didn't get to say much other than "good luck on reelection" (he was very nice and wished me good luck in my studies, as I had previously mentioned being a polisci student), but I sat next to the guy who's in charge of getting Hogan's agenda through the assembly.

Bullock came up since he was just made chair of the NGA (Hogan was made vice chair) and I mentioned that I've heard he's going to run in 2020. Mr. Legislative Liaison Guy said "that's what we're hearing" and I asked why Hogan was listening, "does he have any plans for 2020?" The guy just laughed and said "no" flatly.

Also I said that I'm apprehensive about Jealous despite being a Democrat. The guy asked why and I said "because he comes off as kinda an a--hole" and he laughed very loudly mid-flight.

According to this:

https://www.desmoinesregister.com/story/news/politics/2018/08/05/who-speak-register-political-soapbox-iowa-state-fair-lineup-2018/881755002/

not all of them are going to be there this week (some next week), and there’ll be some other prospective 2020ers at the “Des Moines Register Political Soapbox” at the state fair:

Aug. 11: Swalwell, McMullin
Aug. 14: Steyer
Aug. 16: Bullock
Aug. 17: Castro

I guess that’s McMullin’s first Iowa trip since 2016.  I still wouldn’t rule out the possibility of him running against Trump in the 2020 GOP primary if no one else will.

As a conservative republican, I would vote for both of them over Trump, out of like only 5 potential people.

Whether that's good or bad for them, whatever. I like them.

Wonder how well him firing two women for being pregnant and currently being investigated by the bar association would go with democrats once the media is forced to cover his history? Even if he won the primary, Hillary won 27% of wwc men, I can see the literal stereotype of a sleazeball lawyer going for under 15%

Maybe not, he has a following of dim-witted #resistance fighters who are convinced that an Attention whoring porn lawyer is Clarence Darrow

Why is LGBTQ stuff always pushed on children?

There is a reason why.

The Andrew Yang campaign has started making more campaign merchandise, particularly revealing his specific plan for universal income - $10,000 USD per month per person.

A plan which would cost $3,280,548,920,000 per month, or $39,366,587,040,000 per year.

OK, but that should probably go in its own thread.  This thread is for reading the tea leaves of potential candidates to find clues about who's going to run.  Yang is already running.

Why are parents always kicking out LGBTQ underage children to live on the streets and expose them to drugs and violent crime because they can't accept that their kids aren't straight?
