She's become a Libertarian now. She's also apparently a friend of Roseanne.

Chris Murphy has hired Jenna Lowenstein, who was the digital director for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign:

https://www.politico.com/newsletters/playbook/2018/05/18/house-immigration-votes-discharge-petition-271094

Bad sign if he runs. I did a term paper this semester on the digital campaigns of Trump and Clinton, and my conclusion was basically that Trump wiped the floor with Clinton because he was able to use Twitter to become more "authentic" while Clinton seemed distant and cold via her digital campaign.

How did your term paper account for only 15-20% of Americans using Twitter? I don’t doubt it helped but this is why I’m also skeptical of “Twitter bots were decisive!” claims.

In that same interview, he talks about how he thinks Pelosi and other Dems who won't talk about impeachment are "normalizing" Trump's presidency.

Anyone notice that Mayor Pete Buttigieg has a book coming out in February of 2019.

It's called-
Shortest Way Home
One mayor's challenge and a model for America's future

hmm. America's future?

True, but Mitch Daniels also wrote a book, and never ran. It's a tossup.

I mentioned in another thread that Warren was on The View yesterday.  At the very end of the video here:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0DoQDu4p2X0

she's asked "Are you running for president?" (present tense) and she says "No."

I wish these folks would learn not to ask in the present tense, but whatevs.

Meanwhile, more Steyer here:

Newsom continues to make the most convincing denials of presidential interest, going so far as to suggest that running for president while in his first term as governor would make him a worse governor.  There's no way someone who is actually thinking of running for president would put themselves on record saying that:

I'll be honest from this clip I don't see how Warren is unelectable

I wish these folks would learn not to ask in the present tense, but whatevs.

I really don't see how that would make a difference, since the interviewee can still turn it around with a non-denial denial:

Q. "Are you going to run for President?"
A. "I have no intention to run for President."

Oh sure, but they can continue to dodge, but it would be more obvious that they're dodging.  If they get an answer like that, they can ask if they rule out the possibility of running in the future, or something like that.  The way these questions are often asked now, it's often hard to tell if the candidate is legitimately not interested in running, or if they're offering an artful dodge.  If they asked the question differently, it might make it a little easier to spot that distinction.

O'Malley made another early primary state visit (Nevada this time) a few days ago:

I think that means that he's made the full circuit of all four early primary states (IA / NH / NV / SC) just in 2018 alone.  I think Garcetti's done that too, though I don't remember if all of his visits were also in 2018.  And maybe Tim Ryan and/or Jason Kander did?  I don't remember.  I doubt anyone else has, though more surely will by the end of the year.

CNN's #2020Vision column has been renamed as "2020 Insight".  Here's this week's column:

https://www.cnn.com/2018/06/02/politics/2020-insight-bernie-sanders-iowa/index.html

A few notable things to mention:

-Kander has a new book coming out this summer.
-Booker just did an overseas trip to Afghanistan, Turkey, and Lebanon.

Also, Booker, Gillibrand, and Warren are teaming up for a fundraiser:

Pretty firm denial from Sherrod Brown on this cleveland.com podcast.

Much like Newsom, he then goes on to talk about how constantly thinking about running for President interferes with your ability to do your job.

Biden kleaning in:

I have been thinking about Metoo.  If all he has done is some inappropriate touching or swimming in nude in presence of female Secret Service agent, I think it would not hurt him running against Trump.

My question is can the left wing of the party accept him.  Might that depend on a one term pledge and his VP selection?

Another question I guess is whether that is all the Metoo there is.

Schultz is definitely making the moves necessary to run. I expect him to be living in Iowa and New Hampshire by the end of the year.

I'd much rather see another billionaire run, but I'm still skeptical the Democrats have the ability to nominate a businessman today.

To you Democrats in the know:

How many candidates do you think there will be?  Will it reach the GOP # in 2016?

For the citzen’s of Iowa are the benefits really worth the costs?
