Bill Kristol visited Iowa in March, and he was supposed to visit New Hampshire as well the same month for the “Politics and Eggs” lecture series, but that was postponed due to a snow storm.  Well, he’s in NH now for that rescheduled lecture, and being asked if his early primary state visits indicate an interest in a presidential run:

Honestly, I don't get Atlas's obsession with the word "focused". I understand that it's a word commonly used in clear non-denials, but it's also not always indicative of a non-denial. "Absolutely not" seems like a pretty telling indicator -- at least much more so than Atlas's favorite buzzword -- and imo it's almost disingenuous to point out the use of the F word as something that's suddenly important.

I do think this is most likely a sincere denial.  I just think it's funny how nearly every denial includes "focused", especially the obviously fake ones.

I don't know, I think "focus" is a very common weasel word in politics, even outside of the presidential sphere, and I don't believe much can be read into whether a statement does or does not contain it.

(I do appreciate you explaining why you always bold it, though: I've always been confused by that Smiley)

I'd put him in the same basket as McAuliffe and Hickenlooper old white Governor who doesn't really have much charisma. I think the only chance a white straight guy is going to be the nominee is if they are really young.

I doubt she's running for President. Maybe Levi Sanders asked her to come.

Of everything crazy going on in the world, why would someone with the username "Shameless Bernie Hack" decide this is what shows we are in the dumbest timeline?

More 2020 talk with Bill Kristol here:

https://www.buzzfeed.com/henrygomez/bill-kristol-president-trump-challenger

He wants to get someone to run against Trump in the 2020 primaries, and mentions Romney, Sasse, Mattis, Haley, and Kasich as people he could get behind.  He met with Kasich a few weeks ago, which gave us this pic:

But he briefly floats the idea that maybe, just maybe, he would run if no one else is up for it:

Another article speculating about Inslee's plans:

http://www.seattleweekly.com/opinion/president-governor-or-retirement-only-inslee-knows-his-plan/

Running for president, running for a 3rd term for governor, or simply retiring in 2020 are all possibilities, and no one knows which way he'll go.

I really hope Kristol runs, just so I can watch him get single digits against Trump in the Iowa Caucuses.

It's unclear whether there will even be a presidential preference vote at the GOP Iowa caucuses this time:

Because 1) if you haven’t noticed my Bernie takes are somewhat nuanced, indicating a certain amount of deliberate irony in name choice.

2) Levi running for Congress, let alone in the NH 1, is one of the most absurd, boneheaded political follies I’ve ever seen. Anyone truly concerned with the Left and the project of creating a democratic and equal society instead of what just aping what TYT tells them to think would realize this.

For awhile that's what Trump's candidacy came off to me as. If he wasn't serious it would have been a brilliant piece of performance art where he poses as a caricature of what the Republican Party has become. If Trump was smarter he might have been putting our country through a social experiment like "The Wave." Obviously, this was not the case.

Chris Murphy has hired Jenna Lowenstein, who was the digital director for Hillary Clinton's presidential campaign:

https://www.politico.com/newsletters/playbook/2018/05/18/house-immigration-votes-discharge-petition-271094

Bad sign if he runs. I did a term paper this semester on the digital campaigns of Trump and Clinton, and my conclusion was basically that Trump wiped the floor with Clinton because he was able to use Twitter to become more "authentic" while Clinton seemed distant and cold via her digital campaign.
