The last few days, a slew of prospective 2020ers spoke at the Texas Tribune Festival in Austin:

https://www.nbcnews.com/politics/elections/potential-2020-candidates-gather-texas-tribune-festival-talk-white-house-n915181

Holder, Merkley, Avenatti, Klobuchar, Kerry, Landrieu, Hickenlooper, Castro, de Blasio, Buttigieg, and Patrick were all there:

Long NYT on Biden: he's undecided but intensely deliberating due to the lack of a clear field leader he could support. Private poll has him beloved in Iowa and up comfortably on Warren there. Obamaworld, including Michelle and Jarrett, is encouraging Patrick.

Warren is going to announce fairly early to try to shut the door on other leftist candidates, I think.

It's not the first time when we see and read such news. 2020 ambitions of ex. Booker or Harris are trumped up.

Independent? Democrat?

If he likes Trump so much why is he running?

Yes, it's '24. A German news site cited him wrongly.
Thus I guess he's going to run as a Republican.

Merkley has been doing a "stealth roll" in Iowa to support local DEM candidates, post "Steak BBQ"...

Looks like he hit Cedar Rapids (Linn County) plus Jasper County (Newton) as well...

Honestly if Biden doesn't have Obamaworld support I don't see him running. What exactly would be his lane?

Considering Obamaworld prefered Clinton over him and now seems to have picked Patricks over him really makes it look like they have little trust in Biden's potential.

I think this takes Kander out contention for not only 2020, but probably 2024, and maybe beyond as well.

A bunch of potential 2020ers (Buttigieg, Gabbard, O'Malley, and Swalwell) all showed up in Iowa this weekend for a fundraiser for Rep. Dave Loebsack:

Looks like Gabbard also visited New Hampshire on that same weekend(!):

Michelle?  I'm not sure, but is that the first we're hearing that Obama's own family is in on the Patrick train?

Also:

The more I look at that pic, the more I'm fascinated by Delaney in the background seemingly staring down the guy with a John Delaney shirt on.

Schultz has a book coming out on Feb. 12th, and so will have a book tour at that time (which could conceivably lead into a presidential run):

I think it's now safe to chalk Warren up as 'functionally declared'. Wonder how many we'll get actually declaring 1Q2019.

Since it's gonna be a crowded field I can see many people declaring in Jan, Feb, and March but I think a lot will declare in Q2.
