I think this is the first time since October 2011 I have chaired a Convention with you as a member. Been a long time. Gad to have such a legendary poster finally in our midst.

You know they said that long time ago, we were dead, but I don't think this crowd ever got the memo.

In fact (scans the crowd), I think some of those people are here tonight.

Okay okay, lets settle down!

If you read the Federalist Party Platform, you note that the beginning there is a paragraph length mission statement. Despite its age, I think most every portion of its statement stands the test of time and most important a commitment to our Party's timeless values. Chief among them is stated as the final sentence of that paragraph, " The Federalist Party stands for an Atlasia that welcomes participants, both new and old, and values their contributions to game."

I think our party most embodies that sentiment. We have long stood that Atlasia is a game that should be open to all and shouldn't be kept the exclusive privilege of a few. We have welcomed new players into the game, we have defended them from the false accusations of sockery and demeaning insults, stuff that is frankly beneath this game in my opinion. We praised their initiative and encouraged them to take that first step while others criticized and condemned them

As you look out across this crowd you see our desire to uphold that value. Whether it is old people returning for the first time in years, whether it is new people who have joined the game just recently, or whether it is people who have been consistent players, our Party Welcomes You, Our Party Thanks You for Your Participation and Our Party Wants this to be Your Party Too!

If you believe in a Constitution that guards against both tyranny and anarchy; if you believe in an interactive, engaging and welcoming game; if you believe in solving problems, actually solving problems with regionally based and market oriented reforms; if you believe in a responsible foreign policy that keeps its people safe and only goes to war as a last resort; and finally if you want to work to protect the unborn and reduce the number of abortions; THEN THIS IS THE PARTY FOR YOU! We might not agree on every last point, we might not agree on every strategy, but in general we are far stronger and far more effective together then we ever could be separately. You find no greater amount of respect for differing opinions then you do in this party, and you will find no party more open to advancement based on merit than the Federalist Party and its inclusive leadership culture. I have never ran this party as a dictatorship, I have never desired to be alone at the top, and I have always sought and desired a team working together with me to advance our party. Anyone who says otherwise either doesn't know or is outright lying to you.

It is with the utmost pleasure, in the name of all those Federalists both new and old, in name of those Federalists be they conservative, moderate, libertarian, populist or some combination of the four, in the name of that welcoming attitude and principle of openness to all who wist to participate, I declare this, The Federalist Party's October 2017 Convention, OPEN!!! So I am sure you guys are wanting to see what the itinerary is.

Opens: September 15th, 2017
Delegate Sign In: September 15th - September 17th
Presidential Primary Speeches: September 18th - September  21st
Presidential Primary: September 22nd - 24th


I encourage both Presidential and both the Vice Presidential candidates to make speeches during that September 18th - September 21st period. Supporting speeches will be allowed but I encourage everyone to please be respectful towards your fellow party members on the Convention floor. Passion is to be expected, but in all things, balance is a virtue.

why would delegtaes have to sign in by Sept 17, and this was just announced and the primary Sept 22 when this is the October convention and the election will be a full month away. Shouldn't the october convention be in October, maybe have sign in allowed before October and have the primary very early October.


I ask the Chair to justify the emergency situation that warrants to deviate from the regular schedule in the bylaws. I am not aware of an emergency.

The late declaration/nomination of Federalist candidates for House in August played a significant role in the Federalist Party losing the majority. Therefore, it is my goal to have the Presidential ticket, and House slate nominated by Oct 1st.

Right now Truman has an unimpeded path to start working the general electorate, which gives him a significant advantage. The later we decide on a nominee, the deeper the hole we will have to climb back from.

As for the sign in, that is not a deadline. It is statement of ongoing business that is occurring. People will still be able to sign in after that, but after that date, we will start moving forward with important business.

Hi Poirot, if you need a true justification for emergency, the city of Jacksonville has requested that we clear out quickly as they are trying to recover from Hurricane Irma, thus we have agreed to speed things up on their behalf. As for why we didn't move the Convention, Jacksonville still wanted our money and our money that we paid for the convention will help the city of Jacksonville recover from the Hurricane, thanks for understanding and be sure to donate to the effort!

I have been hearing a lot of concerns expressed to me over the past several days about the recent surge of people into the Federalist Party. It is my desire to welcome them and encourage them to stay. That said, I don't think there is anything fair about people joining minutes before the vote, voting and then leaving. I think the Federalists deserve better than that. I am not here to make any judgement about anyone in particular or their reasoning or point fingers at one side or the other.

That being said while all those officially registered as Federalists in the registration thread, as of 12:00 AM EST, September 18th, will be eligible to vote in the Presidential primary and continue to sign in as has been occurring, anyone who registers as a Federalist after that time will be prohibited from voting in the Presidential Primary.

At this stage, we will be moving on to speeches by the candidates for President and Vice President, and by anyone who wishes to give speeches for either of the candidates. This will last through the 21st.

You know, I recall a scene from an episode of Family Guy where there is this formal dinner and everyone is seat and someone is going "about how this such a wonderful occasion and it would be absolutely terrible if someone were wreck this proper celebration"

Sometimes I am left to feel just as surprised and aghast as that person who was expressing rave reviews of the dinner only to have it ruined right in front of him.

Of course this is what I should suspect. This was kind of crap that was rampant in the Federalist Party in 2013, came roaring back when I lost my internet in August 2014 and only subsided when most of the active people left after it was proclaimed "dead" in March 2015. It saddens me to see this kind of corrupt bulls@%t going on in this party and I tell you, this crap and the people who engage in it, might find themselves unwelcomed...
