So while Florida State will still play in their bowl game they are not bowl eligible.

Well, they're #1 in FPI, Sagarin, and eye test.

Baker Mayfield has incredible leadership qualities. The game was very much in danger of getting out of hand after he threw the pick, but he kept the energy on the sideline and inspired his team to keep their heads up when the road ahead looked untenable. Overtime play calling was miserable. The play where Anderson went out wide (2nd and long?) was completely suspect. I think OU was slightly better, but congrats to Dawgs. Didn't care strongly about either team.

I hate to admit wrongness, but it's a minor outrage that the championship will be played between teams that lost to Auburn when the lone undefeated beat Auburn. I mean, clearly both are better than UCF at full health and Georgia proved themselves in a grudge match, but injuries happen. This could be the last genuinely disputed championship for a long time - solely by virtue of that very sound logic.

Except go Georgia (desperately hopes for someone else besides winning)

No no no, the last thing we need is Saban Jr. winning; it'll make everyone think that getting Saban clones is The Thing again, right as that was dying down. If a boring and over-talented team that can only run well is going to win, it might as well be the original.

True I am just tired of seeing the CFB championship being rotated between Alabama, Clemson and Ohio State.

Well as Georgia is now pulling in #1 recruiting classes, you'll be seeing a lot more of them in the playoffs for years to come.

Do y’all think UCF will be ranked No. 2 in the final AP Poll?

No.

Also it was great seeing future bust Mayfield get caught on camera saying the game was over in the first half and then totally choke.

In addition, roll tide.

It'll either be the loser of the championship or possibly Ohio State if the championship isn't close. Look at TCU 2014; the voters love teams which were (maybe wrongfully) left out and which destroy their opponents. I'd guess they put UCF at 5 or so. If it was up to the committee, I doubt UCF would crack the top 10.

EDIT: by the way, if we can change our predictions I feel absolutely confident in Bama.

DOUBLE EDIT: if you're curious, Bama opened as 4 point favorites, but the lines are moving towards Bama by 5.

Maybe other teams should improve and try to compete with them.

You mean like UCF?  They've consistently done everything needed except they aren't in one of the power conferences, have no chance of joining a power conference, and teams in power conferences go out of their way to avoid scheduling them.  So what if they're undefeated and just beat the team that beat both of the teams in the championship?

Now would they've gone undefeated if they weren't in the American conference, who knows?  What I do know is that the way the current system works, they'll never be able to play for the championship, no matter how good they get.

I agree with you about that. It is difficult for a non Power 5 team to make the playoff. UCF is a great success story this year (I wouldn't say they've consistently done everything needed since they were 0-12 in 2015). But let's be honest, we all know UCF would not be undefeated if they played the same schedule as a team from say the SEC, ACC, or Big 10. I know it seems unfair for them because they are doing everything in their power and kudos to them for that, but they are not one of the best 4 teams in the country.
