Reagan in 1980 asked "Are you better off than you were four years ago?"

The Democrat should ask "Is America great again?"

Well then that would screw over their 2016 message that America was great before Trump took office.

Because the 2016 message was sooo great that they have to stick with it...
Well I mean that by saying "Is America great?" then that's like saying Obama did nothing and the party would be abandoning him

This is the best so far, imo. Alludes to the party's roots, short, memorable, not tongue in cheek sarcastic, is inclusive and is vague enough to mean something to a lot of people, yet not specific enough to be offensive to all that many people. And perhaps most importantly, it sounds like something written by a real person instead of a focus group full of campaign consultants.

If Harding hadn't take it, Return to Normalcy would be great.

"Restoring Dignity."

Something with the word dignity. I feel by 2020 so many Americans are going to be absolutely exhausted with the Trump administration, and all the antics becoming normalized.

Obviously, something representing a new direction, change, something refreshing.

They could steal from Corbyn and make their slogan "For the Many, Not the Few."

"We the People" comes to mind.

Or if they really wanted to be assholes, their slogan can be "Make America Great Again!"
