Similar to the "Who is running thread" but only for third-party candidates or major party candidates that could run third party.

Mods, please sticky this.

An entire website that extensively covers the third parties - a lot of top Libertarian and Constitution Party infighting plays out in their comment section.

Hickenlooper's asked about running on a ticket with John Kasich(!):

Libertarian? Reform?

Donald Trump is a crony capitalist in economics and a complete muddle in foreign policy. I can see someone running against Trump from the Right and still having some credibility.

Well... That's a dead party. Is there anyone left with even minor credibility that might run as a Green?

Hickenlooper effectively rules out a bipartisan third-party candidacy:

in 2016 he won reelection with 76%

I would ask this:  Are we including "Independents" as "Third Party" candidates?  There is a difference at one level.  A Third Party candidate is bound by a platform and ideology in ways an Independent is not.

Also:  Are we talking about all "third parties" or just movements that are serious about getting ballot access in 50 states and DC, or coming as close as possible?

If Trump is the nominee in a heated convention, with deep opposition from within the GOP, I would not be surprised if some states decline to put forth slates of GOP electors loyal to Trump in the vein that the Dixiecrats did in 1948.  In that vein, I see Kasich going full steam ahead, and Evan McMullin as well.  I am convinced of one thing:  Trump will NOT quit.  He will force his enemies to take him down, and in full view of the voters.
