The name rang a bell when I first read the title of the thread here on Atlas, but I still had to go to Wikipedia to figure out who he was.

Yes, being active in Maryland politics will do that to you.

Also I got blasted with ads in 2012 because I lived at least kind of close to the MD-08/MD-06 border.

When I first read his name here, I was misreading it as "Joy Denalane", the name of a German singer ("the German Alicia Keys"), and when I read posts about Delaney I still read read the singer's name in my mind.

You mean Maryland 2014, in which Democrats barely campaigned and the Republicans organized a massive ground team?

Delaney comes from the most Republican part of Maryland.  Western Maryland is probably more Republican than the Eastern Shore these days.

Yes, considering it's the state north of mine.

Also I know that he won in a formerly red district that is being involved in a gerrymandering scandal before he announced his longshot run for president.
