A Proclamation by His Majesty King Joseph

His Majesty has protected the nation from traitors. On this day, January 13th of the year 1759, those who have attempted the life of his majesty have been sentenced and will now face trial upon God. The Távoras and the Duke of Aveiro have been punished with their life for their acts against the Empire and His Majesty.

His Majesty also applauds the excellent handling of the Prime Minister on the dealings of this affair and has absolute trust and support for the Minister's plans to strength our Kingdom and our Empire.

The kingdom of Portugal and the Algarves is sad and shocked by the news and events developing from the Dutch Kingdom. The Portuguese crown and government still recognises William V of Orange as the rightfull ruler and leader of the Dutch Kingdom and its territories.

Royal decree:

By his majesty King Joseph I, the Jesuit organization is banned from the all Portuguese territories. This organization goes against the beliefs and traditions of the Lusitanian Church and have a hidden political agenda against the King and his government. Those who violate the royal decree will he punished with death.

Regarding Princess Mary opinion about the Jesuits:

There is no dissent on the royal family. The King, and his government, are aware of the different opinions of the Royal Princess and have told the princess that the Jesuits where a part of the structural problems in Portugal.

Also, France and Portugal are on negotiations on the way to handle the situation in India, and we expect a good agreement coming out from  these negotiations.

The Kingdom of Portugal will help the Mysores in the war against the Maratha Confederacy. We expect, in the aftermath, a successful organization and distribution of the Indian territories. We also confirm further negotiations with the French Kingdom.
