If "the economist Elizabeth Warren" wins the Democratic presidential nomination, which must be assumed right now, who should she choose as her VP in your assessment?

Bullock would likely be the best choice. He helps court moderates while his strong liberal record on campaign finance would help convince the far left that supported Warren that she didn't choose someone too conservatives. It's a good "concession" to Middle America and helps negate criticism of Warren being a coastal elite, which I'm sure she would get a lot of.

Even a flying pig would win against Trump/Pence.

Can we please stop pretending Bullock is on anyone's mind, let alone Elizabeth Warren's, or that he's even remotely relevant?

Wow! Didn't expected such an overwhelming margin for him...

She'd need to run with a governor from the heartland, who's far less liberal than she is. Hickenlooper would probably be her best option, followed by Dayton.

Yep. WI: Hickenlooper.

Bullock could be a good pick, but they're both from the more populist wing of the party. While a lot of "middle America" wouldn't want to vote for Warren, a lot of neoliberals/GA-6 demographic/Fairfax County demographic/myself wouldn't want to vote for her either. That's why I think she should pick Cory Booker.

Bullock, with an emphasis of winning back the areas that Clinton did poorly in.

The main challenge that this ticket would face is motivating minorities to turn out. Warren would have to make criminal justice reform an important piece of her campaign, along with holding the line on immigration. This may be slightly easier than expected, with Trump calling Warren "Pocohantas" and all.

Booker, Harris, and Castro are all really overrated. They seem like the "token minority" candidates, who have nothing going for them outside of the establishment's blessing. Bennie Thompson (D-MS) would probably be the best minority VP pick. In this regard, the Democratic bench is quite thin.

JBE should really just stay governor of Louisiana.

Really? Someone who will have lost his Senate seat by then? After a Democratic tsunami election year?

From these options: Steve Bullock.

Bullock, I guess, given the options, but as I've said on other threads, I think William McRaven would go a long way towards shoring up some of Warren's weaknesses and accentuating some of her strengths.

As a Moderate, I voted for Obama & Scott Brown for Senate in 2012. But I've been pleasantly surprised in Warren, she's too liberal for my taste in some ways but her stance on economics and her holding wall streets feet to the fire has been awesome, so as a Senator I support her - but dear god don't run for President, that's a scenario which would allow Trump and Putin uhh I mean Pence, back in the White House

I would prefer that Bullock runs for the Senate against Daines.

Heinrich is an underrated pick. He's a Westerner, he's got a good profile on environmental issues, and he's also extremely good looking and a family man.

I'm sure some people would say that the ticket would be too liberal, but Americans are less concerned with ideology than the veneer of ideology. Being a hot white dude from New Mexico will negate a lot of Heinrich's liberalism in terms of his image. Just trot him out in a cowboy hat and bolo tie, and suddenly he's "one of the people."

"The people" are incredibly easy to deceive--look at how many privilege baby Republicans have passed themselves off as working Joes--and Heinrich could have the same effect on Warren's image as a "moderate" candidate without actually politically moderating her and alienating progressives. I think Warren/Heinrich might be the Democrats' strongest, most realistic ticket in 2020.

Wildcard pick: a general. Foreign policy would be her weakest point in 2020.

Of these? I suppose "the attorney John Bel Edwards" would be the best pick.

Too bad Seth Moulton is from the same state he'd be a decent pick. Maybe something out of the left field - Jason Kander if Dems don't really care about experience.

I think it would be Julian Castro.

He's young, Hispanic, can talk about economic issues, and doesn't come from the Northeast (or from the Pacific Coast.)

Wasn't there a soldier who won some states in the 2004 Democratic primary, who is even a Clintoncrat?
Maybe Warren should ask him?
