He seems miserable. His family is in legal trouble. He's obviously bad at it. I mean, objectively, I have GOP and Democratic friends, Trump supporters, etc. who are all horrendously disappointed. So why run again and risk further damage?

He's just delusional enough to run again, believe me.

Honestly, I have no idea ... my current, working hypothesis is that he quits after one term, proclaiming himself the most successful President since Lincoln and saying there is just nothing left to accomplish so he's going to go help in the private sector again.

I think he'll only run again if 100% cleared. Unfortunately it could be impeachment. I hope not

He just seems so miserable. Like truly lost his bearings from misery. If I were him, I wouldn't. Can do exactly what RINOTom said.

I voted no, but that's mostly wishful thinking.

He's already running.  He officially launched his 2020 reelection campaign months ago.

Right. He is already running. He actually likes running much better than "governing".

So do you think that if he wins reelection, he'll resign shortly afterwards once he realizes he won't have anything else to run for again?

Yes. I think only a major health issue would prevent Trump from running.

Yeah, anti-Trump people have a great track record when it comes to Trump.

- He won't announce his candidacy
- He won't file his FEC papers
- He is only running for attention
- He is only running for a new reality TV show
- He won't make it to a GOP debate
- He will surely drop out after the McCain/Megyn Kelly/Disabled reporter comments! Finally!
- He is only running to make money for his businesses
- Trump is colluding with Hillary Clinton to help her win the election
- He won't make it to Iowa
- He won't win a state primary or caucus
- He won't get 1,237 delegates
- The GOP won't let him receive the nomination
- He won't debate Hillary
- The Judge Curiel comments are truly the end of Trump
- The Khan comments have destroyed Trump, he's done! Finally!
- The first debate has destroyed Trump, he's done! Finally!
- He will drop out after the Access Hollywood tape
- Why is he in Wisconsin or Michigan? He has no chance!
- He has no paths to 270 electoral votes
- He just won the Presidency, this is TRULY the end of Trump's campaign! Finally!
- The Wisconsin recount will surely save Hillary (he actually INCREASED his margin LOL!)
- The Electoral College will surely save Hillary (she actually got MORE faithless electors LOL!)
- He won't want to actually be inaugurated
- He won't implement his travel ban
- He won't get out of TPP or the Paris agreement

etc. etc.

How many times must you guys get proven wrong before you hop on the Trump train? If I was wrong as many times as you guys I'd question my beliefs. This is not rational behavior.

Also, this Russian nonsense is only going to increase his popularity. TBH, I am a bit disappointed in him (he's more bark than bite) but then this Russian nonsense brings me back. The 1980s called - it wants its foreign policy back.

The Democrats want good relations with Russia, they just don't want to get hacked. If US citizens get hacked the US government should protect them. The same would be true of any country. But Democrats like Russia.

Oh please. My personal thoughts on Trump basically coincided with Secular Talk's Kyle Kulinski's thoughts (since his primary predictions were unbelievably spot on so I trusted his instincts) and he was more bullish on Trump than probably every other progressive Democrat (minus Michael Moore) in the entire country.

I don't think Russia hacked the DNC and I don't think the DNC believes it either.

For example, they say Podesta was hacked by Russians right? No, what happened was that Podesta clicked on a phishing link and entered his password. That's stupidity, not Russians.

For one thing, why would Russia want to help Trump? Makes no sense. Clinton and Obama gave Putin everything he wanted.

Look, I just think they feel obligated to talk about it, because new news keeps coming out, and the corporate media is told to cover it. But trust me, the Democrats will NOT be running against Russia - they will be running on their economic ideas. Over the long term they will continue to give Putin what he wants. That's fine, really.

A lot of progressives like The Young Turks and Michael Moore were more bullish on Trump because of Trump's populism.

But let's face it, Trump's campaign is surely over now the 453530th time. I've been a Trump supporter since day 1 and I remember when Trump was colluding with Hillary Clinton to make the GOP look bad and help her get elected. The "evidence" was clear: Trump donated to the Clintons; the Clintons were at his wedding; Bill called Trump a month before he announced his candidacy (was this ever explained  what the call was about BTW?); Trump said Hillary was best to negotiate with Iran; Trump said Hillary was a great Secretary of State; Trump was making outrageous statements left and right; Trump brutally and relentlessly attacked Jeb Bush; etc. etc.

I think more effective attacks against him would be the fact Ford and Carrier are moving jobs out of the country or that he hasn't started the wall yet. This Russian nonsense is just getting people pissed, especially considering just in 2012 the Democrats were literally saying Romney wasn't ready to be President due to his comments on Russia.

Right now Trump has a soft exposed belly - Carrier and Ford are shipping their jobs out of the country (even the ones Trump said he saved). His wall hasn't started. The Obamacare repeal failed miserably. Tax reform likely won't happen.

I think the Democrats are finally starting to understand this and are slowing down on the Russian stuff.

Aside from straight repeal, are there any BS legalisms he can use to avoid term limits?

Have some stooge run for president with Trump as VP.  Then, on day one in office, the prez resigns, and VP Trump takes over as president.

I'd say Trump does not make the list of the 5 people most likely to be a candidate 2 years from today.

If Trump makes it that far, I dont see why he doesn't. Even if he has terrible approval ratings, he's delusional enough to not believe them.

Personally, I think a Goodbye Lenin setup would be ideal, whereby Trump is kept in bed watching fake news reels about how he's winning re-election in a landslide and everyone loves him while allowing a more serious Republican to run in 2020 in the real world.

Bingo. He can't help it. His ego can't help but be in the lime light.
