In your opinion, which Dem do you see at this point as an almost guaranteed Dem candidate for president in 2020?

O'Malley, McAuliffe, Booker, Harris, Cuomo, Warren, and Bullock, there are a couple more who probably will run but I'm not 100% sure about them.

O'Malley has actually done town hall events in both New Hampshire and South Carolina in 2017, despite the fact that he currently holds no office, and is not an official candidate for any office.  I imagine that if it was at all socially acceptable to announce a presidential campaign three years before the election, he would already have filed the paperwork with the FEC.

Exactly, there is no way O'Malley isn't running. He has done several events, polled fairly well in Iowa, and really dosen't have anything to lose since he is no longer governor.

O'Malley is a lock, I think Gillibrand, Cuomo and Booker are too. There are others that I think are likely to run (Biden, Sanders, Warren) but I'm not 100% convinced of it like I am of the first four I listed.

EDIT: I feel like Gavin Newsom will run for president eventually, and maybe in 2020. But I don't think he'd want to go from being inaugurated Governor in January and having to launch a Presidential campaign in March. If Dems lose in 2020, Newsom will definitely be in in 2024.

O'Malley is the only given right now. Nothing to lose and another chance to be in spotlight when he runs. Trying to pull the Santorum in Iowa route.

He only polled well in Iowa due to the fact that his PAC conveniently left out big-name candidates.

O'Malley, Booker, McAuliffe, Cuomo. Klobuchar seems almost guaranteed but I'm not as sure as I am about the others.

Either way it's much better than his 2016 numbers and could be enough to start building more support in Iowa to help him rise in the polls.

If Elizabeth Warren is the nominee and loses in a landslide for being too far left Joe Donnelly could move the party back to the middle in 2024.

Almost certainly Martin O'Malley, Andrew Cuomo, and probably Elizabeth Warren. I actually would be surprised if either Joe Biden or Bernie Sanders ran.
