President Donald J. Trump (R-NY)/Vice President Mike Pence (R-IN), 359 EV'sMr. Rocky De La Fuente (D-CA)/Attorney Ralph Nader (ID-CT), 97 EV'sSenator Elizabeth Warren (PD-MA)/Senator Mazie Hirono (PD-HI), 82 EV'sMany Progressive Democrats opposed De La Fuente, and urged Senator Warren to run. Officially, on April 17, she declared her candidacy as a member of her own new political party, the Progressive Democratic Party. She announced on April 30 that Hawaii Senator Mazie Hirono would be her running mate. After the election, the Progressive Democratic party folded and its politicians re-joined the Democratic Party.
Though Nader was an independent, De La Fuente appointed him as his running mate. Nader registered himself as a "Independent Democrat" in order to be eligible to run. After the election, he became a Independent again.
Trump knew that he would win due to the brokered Democratic party, and easily rolled through both the Progressive Democrats and the Democrats.
