At the risk of agreeing with EnglishPete, I wouldn't put it past the Putin regime to throw Trump under the bus by leaking a bunch of generally boring correspondences with Trump people and throwing in a few smoking guns of their own. I mean, if I were in the Kremlin, I'd be getting pretty tired of his shenanigans as well.

What doesn't make sense for this narrative, though is why Trump Jr. felt compelled to release the info. Is he really so loyal as to throw himself under the bus regardless of whether it's legit or contrived? Does anyone really think this is all part of some plan where someone will produce a less-damning version of the email and say "See it was doctored!" And somehow exonerate Trump Jr.? Really?

Haha the RINOs on Atlas still insist this ridiculousness is an anomaly which is even more insulting to our intelligence.

Tell your story!

Here's mine:

The first time I got interested in politics was in late 2015. My parents were supporting Bernie, but I didn't really care. I eventually got bored, and read almost all the main points of his platform, and that's when I got interested. It just made sense to me. After that, my mom and I went door to door, and almost everyone we met was very enthusiastic about Bernie. The fact an old "far-left" "socialist" was so well liked by the people in my area made me even more enthusiastic about him. After that, i've become extremely interested in politics, and now i'm even considering running for local office when I get old enough.

Holy cow. More victory.

Judge says....No stealing the election!

Link

Judge T.S. Ellis III of U.S. District Court in Alexandria declined to issue a preliminary injunction to stop Republican Bob Thomas from being sworn in as a delegate next Wednesday, saying the plaintiffs had not shown they were likely to prevail.

“I think the officials in these precincts made a reasonable decision to rely on the data they had,” Ellis said.

While he acknowledged that the mistake was “a big deal” to the affected voters, “there are other big deals,” including “federal courts sticking their noses into state election procedure.”

I'm going to be completely serious here: unless someone beats her to it, North Carolina's first trans lesbian officeholder.

I do feel like I become less productive when I am faced with a deadline far from now. An interesting philosophy.

Lear was right that Democrats are doomed if they don’t embrace Bernieism. Atlas are neoliberal shills for silencing him.

Reddit does offer a wide perspective of subreddits that can allow one to discussed their own interest. What I mean is beyond the alt-right circles, the site's demographic is largely upper-middle class white guys in their teens-twenties. From a political perspective, most reddit users would fall under anti-establishment wings, whatever leaning right or left. You didn't see a sway of support for establishment Republicans in the last primary, nor did Hillary have the easiest with the people on both sides of the aisle.

The existentialist in me argues that there's no such thing as a metaphysically defined truth that binds all of human nature. However, the nature of creating orderly societies requires certain values and rights to be recognized if you want any group of people to live together and be productive at all. In a sense, those are our universal rights: the things humans need to exist in the first place and co-exist among others. A society that takes them away will not survive, and so there's a common sociological obligation to maintain certain baseline values.

Does #NeverTrump have any ideology apart from being against Trump though?

The reason #NeverTrump didn't make much sense is that all it meant was one thing (not supporting Trump) with little ideological coherence among his detractors on the GOP side, varying from centrists to social conservatives to libertarians.  Their reasons for opposing Trump also varied as well.

The US has a large trade deficit because it's a consumer nation. It takes in more goods than it sends out.
We certainly need manufacturing on some level but what's good for some parts of the US manufacturing sector can easily be bad for the nation as a whole.
That's why I stand by the concept of free trade and think it should be in force in most cases - the people harmed by it are much outnumbered by those are helped. Protectionism harms the interests of masses of Americans who don't have manufacturing jobs and many who do have manufacturing jobs.

National Parks are nice. My dad and I made a loop out of Great Basin NP, the five Utah Parks, Mesa Verde NP, and the Grand Canyon. Up towards Oregon, there's Lassen Volcanic NP and Lava Beds NM along with Crater Lake NP (the only one of those three that's actually in Oregon). Never been to Alaska.
