Texas pride makes sense given its stature and former independence. It's far from the only state with pride, though:



All throughout middle school and high school I was surrounded by lacrosse boys wearing stuff like this. Bougie suburbanites and frat boys in the Old Line State are perpetually drunk on pride in our fine state of polluted and overfished waterways, sports that we stole from the Iroquois and destroyed the fun and spiritual meaning thereof, and Old Bay seasoning. Old Bay I can get behind.

Omaha and Lincoln are well-educated.  Nebraska is also more urban/suburban than many of its neighbors.  In addition, while Nebraska is definitely a Republican state, it’s not that culturally Trumpy.
