Sounds like you’re just hating on his drip.

I don’t know how anyone could watch that cringe fest and find the existence of any ‘drip’ to hate on.
I’d be careful throwing around the word “cringe” with a name and sig like yours. Glass houses and all that 😬

TIL that I’m somehow not on West Midlander’s buddy list.

Hopefully that changes.

If the former President is not reinstated, then at the very least actual terrorists like the Taliban should be banned off the platform.

"Indigenous People's Day" ought to be renamed "F#ck Columbus Day," since that's all it pretty much is: just knee-jerk counter-reaction.

I've never seen a self-described celebrator of "Indigenous People's Day" do anything to actually celebrate indigenous culture. I've only seen "mock trials" of Columbus and anti-Columbus Day counter-protests.

By one definition, most of them, including nonwhites. Almost all people have unconscious racial biases. It's part of human nature.

What separates the racist from the antiracist (there's no such thing as a "nonracist") is the choice between surrendering to the biases or fighting them.

Only someone as criminally incompetent as Trump could take an anti-PRC message and bungle it so bad that it stirs a wave of racially charged violence and a wave of hostile political trends among the very groups who would naturally take issue with the PRC for various reasons.

This is ironic considering the level of “aspirational” voting in the Hispanic community. Maybe the Stockholm Syndrome will eventually consume Asians as well, maybe Hispanic support will revert, or maybe this has nothing really to do with racism and simply something to do with educational attainment. That is, comparing people who mostly have been raised with middle and upper middle class values (even where they were poor) and those who have been raised with working class values (though perhaps a few of them had affluent childhoods).

I don't think Trump single-handedly caused Asians to trend D. This was inevitable to some extent due to more and more Asians who 1) grew up in the US, 2) have no memory of the Cold War, and 3) also have a more tolerant and multicultural understanding of American society becoming old enough to vote. At most he simply accelerated the long-term trend of Asian Americans shifting from Reagan's GOP to Obama and Sanders' Democratic party as they gained strength in numbers. (Or limited the amount of post-Obama R rebound, if you'd rather think of it that way as OSR does.)

I also suspect Asians on the whole face different types of systemic racism and are culturally more different from the Anglo/white majority in fundamental ways than Latinos on the whole are. Put another way, Cuban Americans (the most R major Latino group) can broadly pass for white in ways that Vietnamese Americans (the most R major Asian group) cannot- and this seems to be correlated with newer Vietnamese immigrants being relatively D while newer Cuban immigrants are relatively R.

It's also worth noting that the most "white-adjacent" Asian groups (Indians and Japanese) are also the most strongly D. But in any case, the polling data I've seen with voters under 30 of different races suggests that the political future of Asian Americans will be a group that leans D by margins somewhere in between Black Americans and Latino Americans. (edit: source for 2020 election 18-29 vote by race)

Not very surprising given how deep into the victimhood mentality and arrogant asians can get. Pretty hypocritical as many of them will attack demographics that perform worse economically whether it be hispanics, blacks, rural people and attribute such disparate outcomes as solely merit based. But, the second many asians look at a demographic that does even slightly fiscally better than them, they start moaning about “unfair circumstances at birth” and attributing such outcomes towards dubious factors such as luck and privilege. **sigh** and I have to say this as a Chinese person.

This is where the whole "every Asian person I know is voting for Trump" online narrative comes from. It's mostly immigrants who grew up in the motherland [Fresh Off The Boat, Never Have I Ever, and Kim's Convenience illustrate this non-WEIRD culture immigrant mentally fairly well IMO], although I know people who grew up here can be like that too.

But it's also worth emphasizing that there are a lot of blue-collar, downscale Asians out there who don't work as rocket scientists, brain surgeons, software engineers, or professors- even if Asian subgroups strongly value education and have higher cross-generation educational mobility. That's a huge part of why Asians are a relatively D group.

Skipping Abdullah, as requested:

I was consistently opposed to the Patriot Act when it was first created, and definitely nothing ever resembling a "Far-Right" person in my life.

Still consistent, so not sure where you are coming from here, and as others have mentioned you basically got one dude who happens to be a PUB SEN from KY who made a bit of noise about this in the dayz.

Is this even a real argument, since I'm not sure what evidence you have to support your thread question, which really was presented as more of a statement or PoV than anything else.

Sounds about right. Bush 1988 wasn’t abjectly awful, though I’d still prefer Dukakis.

It would be nice to hang the Albatross that was the 1976 election around Ford’s neck.

That being said, I’d agree with Eisenhower over Stevenson (both times).

Here's my attempt to create a GOP Gerrymander for IL. Trump won 9 seats and Biden 8 seats. Most of the R seats are still close and could be come a very bad dummymander in a blue leaning year.

We'd be better off if Trump just closed his mouth and shut up.
Enough about audits. Enough.
At least this serves as a warning to Rs who might consider dabbling in this nonsense for self-serving reasons. Lesson being: it won't work.
Imagine being this careless with taxpayer money.

This avatar would be light blue or purple in color and it would have a P as the letter.

Examples:

Chips (P-OH)
Chips (P-OH)

Kinda surprising we don't have an avatar like this I gotta say.
