Trump's approval ratings continue to decline, there are multiple crises which are going unaddressed because of this administration's incompetence, the Republicans are inexplicably messing with healthcare and are intent on passing a bill with <20% support nationwide and virtually no support whatsoever from any major medical organizations, important positions related to national security and emergency preparedness/responsiveness are still unfilled, Trump is already facing pressure from a gleeful Putin who's fully aware of our president's incompetence, he's facing the biggest political scandal since Watergate and is now personally under investigation, and all of that is just scratching the surface.

Yeah...

MAGA, am I right?

When is Pelosi ever going to be held accountable 2010..2012..2014..2016..2018? Why are House Dems ok with this?

Didnt you hear? The geniuses over at the DNC are hiring Rham Emanuel to coordinate the 2018 mid-terms. He's going to brush the dust off the 90s DLC playbook and bring back the Clinton days! Sure it hasn't worked in nearly 20 years but dont worry ...any day now!
I don't think putting up ultra-liberal Sandernistas will do it
Tell it Jeremy Corbyn

The Dems have been running centrist trash all my life. It dosen't work and it never will. The GOP keeps pushing further and further right and they only win more. It's time for Dems to get a ing clue and chuck Pelosi, Hoyer, Perez, Schumer, et all to the side
GOP will move more to the center over time. Centrism is the key for both parties

It needs to be centrism with a vision though.

Centrism that is cold and without a vision depresses turnout.
I think it needs to be something that says "Centrism involves working together on common issues and seeking to reconcile differences.  Such a movement will allow for a more functional and positive America."

This. You can't be too extreme. You can't be too xenophobic and too open borders. There is waste in every part of the budget including the military. Not everyone who serves in the U.S. military is a fascist or a killer. Not every cop is a "pig". Not every immigrant is a "freeloader".

You need some type of centrism. Extremes don't work all the time.
This is why I feel like I identify more with Germany's FDP

When Corbyn overcame the media and half of his party slandering him as a radical, and gave Labour their first glimpse at the Prime Minister's seat in years, I was excited because finally the No Labels, "America is a center-right country" hacks would finally wake up. Instead they completely ignored it.

F**k the Democratic Party forever.

America is different than Britain. Some of Corbyn's policies I agree with but I don't like far-left Marxism nor right-wing fascism.

A campaign on Far left politics and socialism can't be run in the US because of welfare chauvinism plus black people exist in this country.

There is welfare fraud in America that people need to admit. America is generous, but we are a nation of achievers, or we try to be. I personally don't like welfare. I believe it is for people who really need it.

How does Corbyn doing well in the UK say anything about US politics?

Because they parallel each other

Reagan-Thacher
George HW BUsh- John Major
Clinton-Blair/Bush
Obama-Cameron
May-Trump

Notice the ideological similarities that follow in near lockstep?

lol

UK electorate and political climate is much different from the US. Comparing foreign elections to US elections is just dumb and this goes for those saying Macron election means something to centrism in the US.

Well the DCCC has got its work cut out for them in the Romney-Clinton districts in and around Orange County. Obviously it's not the same; but a lot of the groups Dems need to win over here are quite similar to the constituents in GA-6.

Ossoff was probably the best fit in terms of ideology and messaging for these kind of voters. Sh!t

Those districts are anywhere from 2-4% more Democratic than GA-6 and they aren't Republican gerrymanders. It wouldn't even take the sort of swing that occurred in GA-6 to totally turn Orange County blue.

They also won't have national attention and the same amount of money poured into them. Also GA-06 is about 13% AA. CA-48 for example is only 1%. Hispanics and Asians are far more elastic and they make up the bulk of minority voters in these areas.

Those districts are all at the top of the list for potentially Democratic gains, so they will get attention and locally there are plenty of resources to be competitive. With that said, none of those districts is an exact match for GA-6, so there is only so much you can compare.

BINGO.  The US is, culturally speaking, much further to the right than the UK or any other European country for that matter (with the exception of perhaps Switzerland).

corbyn did not win exactly and i am pretty sure, trump would atm get less votes than last november.

Surprised about how close SC was (considering Archie Parnell was basically ignored compared to Ossoff). If Dems had put in just a bit more effort there and Kansas it would have been a winnable race. The two where they did put in effort, well it didn't turn out well.

Parnell spent like $10,000 and a couple of Wal-Mart gift cards to fund his campaign and he did better than Ossoff...sad!

The Democrats should have Parnell on standby for a rematch in case Ralph Norman starts making gaffes or assaulting the press.

Hillary Clinton returned to her alma mater Wellesley College in Massachusetts on Friday to deliver this year’s commencement address.

Telling the crowd of all female graduates, “You may have heard that things didn’t exactly go the way I planned, but you know what I’m doing OK. I’ve gotten to spend time with my family – especially my amazing grandchildren. I was going to give the entire commencement speech about them but was talked out of it. Long walks in the woods, organizing my closets, right. I won’t lie – chardonnay helped a little too.”

The speech comes as the former Democratic presidential nominee is taking steps to re-enter the public sphere after her loss to Republican Donald Trump in last year’s election.

Clinton this month announced the creation of “Onward Together,” an adaptation of her campaign theme, “Stronger Together.” The group, she tweeted, will “encourage people to get involved, organize, and even run for office.”

The speech was also a return engagement of sorts for Clinton.

She delivered the student commencement address 48 years ago in 1969, the year she graduated from the all-women’s school.

Clinton also delivered a commencement speech at Wellesley in 1992

Maybe VA and NJ, and NYC mayoral, but those are blue-leaning areas. They could win TN-GOV with Karl Dean?

Tell it Jeremy Corbyn

The Dems have been running centrist trash all my life. It dosen't work and it never will. The GOP keeps pushing further and further right and they only win more. It's time for Dems to get a ing clue and chuck Pelosi, Hoyer, Perez, Schumer, et all to the side

It has always been the left that needs to sacrifice control and "be realistic" while the center has lost everything.

But no doubt they will double down on this terrible strategy of targeting the mythical moderate Republicans. "We only lost by a few points", they'll say, and we'll see a bunch of Jon Ossoff clones running in vulnerable Republican districts in 2018.

Anyone who's here talking about "muh issues" and the like are clearly deluding themselves. The political parties now represent a proxy racial and cultural war in this country. You can confidently predict who will win what place based on demographics, save a few exceptions where it's more about culture.

You have horrible candidates running on dog whistles and failing to govern effectively and responsibly, yet still getting elected running on similar agendas. You also have candidates running as an alternative to put a stop to cronyism and bad policies, and they don't get elected.

I have little faith left for this country, if any at all. This is all exacerbated by adults behaving like petulant children in a playground, basically summarized in "HAHAHA YOU LOSE, LOLOL." Seriously? I'm ashamed for all of us. I thought this country was better than that.

Ossoff ran the tried and true New Democrat "Identity Politics" campaign.  Instead of talking about real issues, he just focused on checking off the minority boxes and getting his womyn buzzwords into cute soundbites.  It's the reason Hillary lost and it's the reason Democrats will continue to lose.

He talked about Healthcare the most.

Try again.

He opposed single payer.

$30 million to lose a Trump by 1.5 point district by 5 points? Sad!
