I own more than one. Grin

But I have never hunted, nor do I ever intend to.

So why so many guns?  Seems like a hell of a lot of protection.

No, and I don't plan on getting one.  I'm personally a pacifist, although I'm not the type who thinks that everyone else should be one.

So you're not a militant pacifist.

NO guns.  I hate them.  They kill people way, way, way too often.  Bad things to have around.

Looks like we are outnumbered gun-wise by all the small penis Republicans.  Time to buy some bullet proof vests and some rocket launchers.  Wink

I guess I'm just not scared enough to want to own a gun.

You don't need to be afraid to own a gun. A lot of people enjoy immensely shooting at targets. Others like to collect. I don't hunt, I'd rather be in bed at that hour than up in the forest somewhere in the winter!

No, but I'm a great admirer of antique weapons and will probably purchase them somewhere along the line.

I have a couple antique weapons.

I've never seen the appeal of hunting, and I don't collect antiques or things like that.  And as I'm not afraid of the boogeyman either, I guess I'll never need to own one. Wink

I have a couple antique bayonets and antique sword. I have a couple reproduction antique weapons Remington .44 caliber pistol, Richmond model 1863 .58 caliber rifle (Springfield knockoff), Enfield .58 caliber carbine. I am looking at purchasing a chinese knockoff of the Soviet Mossin Nagant rifle made about 1952 and I am also looking at an American made british enfield rifle from WW2.

I like guns. It's a hobby of mine. I like to take them to the range, shoot at some paper targets. I also like to take them apart and clean them. Smiley

Basically.  I simply would prefer not to resort to violence if at all possible.  I don't care what anyone else does.  I suppose I'm not 100% pacifistic since, if someone was actively trying to kill me, I probably wouldn't just sit there and take it, but I would likely want to resolve the situation in a fashion that didn't involve killing the other person, though, if at all possible.  I simply would really not like to have the thought of having killed another person on my conscience, even if that person was what many would consider to be "evil", or whatever.

I didn't know a gun was capable of killing someone on its own.

Some, but not enough.

Like most collectors, I have a list of firearms I would like to add to my collection, if the price is right.

Most people who aren't knowledgeable about firearms do not understand just how many variations their are in firearms.

Consider the bolt action rifle.  While most of those manufactured use the 'Mauser' type, there are other types like the Lee-Enfield, the Ross, the Schmid-Rubin (but to name a few).

Yes, I do own one, a simple 9mm, from the days of when I was in Texas and had a concealed carry license.

I am not particularly a rifle nut, though I used to do some deer hunting in the Texas Hill Country back a while ago when I was younger (my parents have a place up there).

Now, because there isn't concealed carry in Maryland unfortunately, I pretty much just keep it in the apartment for safety needs.  Haven't gone hunting in a while anyway.

No, and probably never will.  I hope to live in an area where a gun is unnecessary.

I just don't like the idea of something like that in my home.  I just never have found them as cool nor interesting as many.

Option 7.

My parents actually used to have a gun, and both know how to operate one.  My dad went duck hunting with my great-grandfather when he was a kid, and my Mom learned from him before I was born because Dad used to work night shift all the time and was concerned about my Mom and my older sister.   So, he taught her how to shoot and got a 12 gauge shotgun, but when I came along my Mom didn't want the gun around the young children, so my dad gave it to one of his co-workers at the time.  I want to get a hand gun when I get my first apartment.
