I've been saying for a while that (A) Al Gore is interested in 2020, and (B) he may well be the Democrats' strongest candidate. 

Whatever you want to say about Al Gore, he has the stature to be a credible challenger to Trump.  He has the claim not only of having been denied the Presidency despite winning the PV, but being denied in a way that was highly political (a 5-4 Scotus Decision with only 1 Republican dissenting).  He has a claim to saying "I wuz robbed!" that is not illegitimate.  I think Trump is more likely to be beaten by someone with the narrative of a Gore than the narrative of some flavor of the month that gets nominated more due to race/ethnicity/gender/state or region of origin in an attempt to cobble together 270 EV regardless of the quality of the candidate.
