Counterpart to the presidential one in the 2016 board.

Kaine by far, obviously. The rest are terrible.

...wow. And I thought the top of the tickets in this century have been bad.

I guess it has to be Kaine out of process of elimination.

Yeah, Kaine easily (although someone with Edwards' policies who wasn't an utter sleazebag would be great).

I'd say Joe Lieberman. His choice as the first Jewish VP candidate was historic; he generally supported Dem positions (including late-term abortions) but was independent on some issues, such as school choice; and he provided geographic balance to the ticket.

The only reason Evangelicals didn't vote for Gore-Lieberman is that they were Democrats (though Bush's "Christ, because he changed my life" debate answer helped). I doubt anti-Jewish prejudice played much of a role, at least among mainstream Evangelicals. Ever since the Carter-Mondale-Dukakis years (AKA Reagan years), mainstream Evangelicals don't trust Democrats.

Lieberman got a bad rap, not only from Evangelicals, but by the looks of it from some posters on this Forum (IMHO).

I agree with this, except I would put the biggest gap between Lieberman and Ryan.

Edit: wait, actually I'd put Ryan way below Palin.

Kaine.

The rest are complete human garbage, and some (namely Lieberman and Palin), may have actually contributed to their fellow ticket-sharers loss.

Ryan and Lieberman are great. Kaine is decent. Palin and Edwards are human garbage.

Voted for Ryan.
