Many of these Schumer-Trump voters went against Gillibrand in 2018, who did much worse than Schumer throughout most of Upstate New York. Given polarization, I doubt that a performance like Schumer's will be replicable for Democrats in the future. Many of the counties that he won (he carried 56 of New York's 62 counties) are trending Republican rapidly.
