Trump is more hated than Bush BY far.

Someone mentioned The Young Turks, but even Cenk said 2004 doesn't even compare to 2016. A lot of Democrats I know said they felt 100 times worse on November 9, 2016 than November 3, 2004.

One thing about 2004 is that it had a HUGE explosion in the popular vote. Very important election.

Most liberals I know do not think of Trump as merely a Republican/political opponent - but pure evil. The Devil in human form. Hitler reincarnated.

In fact Bush is entering the rehabilitation phase.

I disagree. Bush was hated too, and plenty of people portrayed him as an evil war criminal.

As somebody who lived through the GWB administration, I find the left's recent acceptance of him to be sickening. All of a sudden he is an honest, decent man with bipartisan appeal just because of Trump. That sentiment would've held a lot more weight if he hadn't been used as the voodoo doll of the 2008 election.

The left is accepting him because they hate Trump that much.

Trump makes them nostalgic for Bush.

Their hatred for Trump is irrational and outright unhinged. I never felt that way when people hated Bush. Trump has unlocked something inside them that made them that way. Palin kind of did too but not as much as Trump.

As far as I knew, the typical Democrat wasn't too hypocritical with Bush. They didn't like the Iraq war so they voted for Obama over Clinton.

But Trump has turned them irrational/hypocritical:

- They supposedly get offended by Trump's insults yet insult him non-stop ("Orange face," "Cheeto," "Baby hands," etc. etc.)
- They supposedly get offended by Trump mocking a guy with a disability yet had no problem when Obama would do it
- They nominated a woman who enabled a sexual abusing husband
- They are supposed to be against Super PACs/Citizens United/money in politics yet their candidate spent like 3 times as much as Trump did (who only had like what, one Super PAC by Roger Stone?)
- In 2012 they were slobbering all over Russia but changed their stance because of Trump's pro-Russia stance
- They kept mocking Trump for losing and said he should just accept the results but the second they lost they lost their minds and demanded recounts and all that
- They demand Trump apologize or something over Charlottesville but when a Democrat Obama/Clinton supporter murders cops in Dallas or gays in Orlando no one makes them answer for that

And so much more. It's a long list.

As I said, I never felt this way about liberals/Democrats from 2004-2008. Kerry and Clinton both supported the war, but that was rejected in 2008 for Obama.

With Bush, their criticisms were 100% legit and in taste. Another person that seems to really tick leftists off IMMEDIATELY is Sarah Palin. Not quite as bad as Trump, but man she makes them go crazy. It's one of the reasons I laugh at them when they try to say Hillary faced misogyny. Do they not remember how they treated Sarah Palin?
