Another name I forgot: MT Treasurer. Having talked to him and read his posts I think he's quite good. I relied on him during our recent special. He and Sanchez are the people I read to get the populist right's take and they do a good job irrespective of some of their inflamed posts (tbh I do that too).

Badger's wit and posts make me crack up and he's a fellow Never Trumper so I like that too.

On the Left the most thoughtful liberals I've always enjoyed reading Virginia, Scott, KingSweden, Sherrod Brown, TT, Pres. Griffin, and a couple  others including JA (thanks btw) and others.

I don't want to leave out anyone or go all moderate hero ff so I'll stop there.

Barnes, because he'd been long absent, so many people are not familiar with his contributions.

Get too much hate: Antonio, omegascarlet
Aren't appreciated enough: Zioneer, OneJ_

This isn't an exhaustive list at all.

This.

Virginia and Griffin don't win this only because I think most people fully realize they're great posters.

Most underrated? Probably Barnes.

Grumps is somewhat underrated. We know him mostly from FC stuff/one liners, but his in-depth posts are quite good.

POTUS is very underrated. He's one of my favorite posters, and WV lost bigly by not electing him last year (he came only 34 votes short!)

This too -- he's provided more insight into WV politics for me than the rest of the forum combined, and got me into Atlasia all those many months ago.

I really don't get it. He's always struck me as a hopeless tryhard.

The two that spring to mind are the ones I made "Opinion of" threads on for that very reason - Blackraisin/Mr. Reactionary and Siren. If RI is not considered in the top tier of posters, I would definitely include him as well, since his precinct maps are pretty much what brought me to Atlas in the first place, and his religion map is an absolute beauty.

I was just about to say the same thing about those two being underrated. They are both very interesting mavericks.

Jaichind is an odd choice. Most posters realize that he is awful for reasons other than post quality, i.e. he is a moral monster who takes pleasure in showing off his lack of scruples.

Some of the other choices in this thread are similar, e.g. realisticidealist gets recognition for his cartography but seems to be widely disliked on account of his personality and uncompromising religious views.

Other names mentioned, like Antonio, Scott, PiT, and Leinad, are more polarizing than anything. And a few whom I am not interested in calling out by name are just bad posters who are good at making friends.

Being "underrated" as a poster is not the same as being unpopular.

Anyway, Linus van Pelt remains my choice for this distinction.

I'd like to know this list, just to know if I am considered one. I don't think I am, as I don't have too many friends on here.

Kingpo, I'd consider you the antithesis of that description. There are several posters who I'd definitely put under that category, but you aren't one of them.
