Nothing actually changes, it just takes out something unnecessary, as the rest of the clause covers it.
If nothing would change, why take the topic sentence out of the rule making it somewhat more confusing to future readers?

Is there point to even debating the unwiseness of striking this rule?

No. Smiley
This amendment is a perfect case (potentially), if there is a consensus, why hold up the legislative process for two whole days?

I think there are things that we do quicker provided we have unanimous consent. But that might not be a germane consideration when we weigh this amendment...different matter.

Fair point. I may have jumped the gun to cite this amendment as an example, when it may prove to be contentious.

I take it we are having a vote soon left on this sub-amendment?

On the entire bill as amended? Or the subamendment?

I don't really see how you can go as far as call them "garbage" as arguments for them that have been previously made were pretty valid Tongue

Methinks you just hate ideas that aren't yours, considering you've been against almost every subamendment proposed. Nev's gone you know, you don't have to blindly follow what he wants anymore.

We didn't vote on the last few subamendments, so they weren't removed.

I was opposed to most of the subamendments because they were bad.

Also, I have no idea where the accusation that I hate ideas that aren't mine came from, that was sure out of left field.

I think we ought to go back to the old rules and amend them rather than completely writing another set.

EDIT: That's a NAY, by the way.

NAY, not convinced the rules even need to be changed right now, if we have to do that, well, we'll get to that bridge when we get to it.

I like to nickname him 'Dipper'. Now he'd be 'Delegate Dipper'. Tongue
