I'll go for Primaries later, for Ideal choices. My ideal choice for 2004 was Governor Howard Dean of Vermont.

Why on earth would you vote for Mondale in 1984 but then vote for Reagan's VP in 1988?

I'm guessing that's aimed at me. Reagan < Mondale < Bush

Mondale was the lesser of two evils, and Bush was much more appealing to me than Reagan.

Sorry Giovanni, but if you would vote for Mondale over Reagan, then you probably shouldn't be in the GOP. Sad

True, Reagan was bad, but Mondale was trash. The Dems should have nominated Hart.

For all Reagan's flaws, Mondale was not someone to accept as an alternative. Of course, if he were, he would have won a state other than MN (a .18% win, mind you, and Reagan refused to campaign there).

That's why I'd have voted for Bergland. But in a two-man race, I'd have either voted Mondale or absented.

Any specific questions for why I would have voted for a particular candidate?

I'd want Bush to get the blame for the financial crisis and resulting Great Recession so that a Democrat will be elected in 2008 and possibly 2012 and 2016. If Kerry won in 2004, we'd possibly be looking at a Republican President and Congress right now and possibly for a very long time nonstop.

Right, so you'd put the country through four more years of Bush hell because you wanted that to result in four-eight years of Obama hell. Great.

So you acknowledge that the economic problems were not caused by Bush or Republicans, but simply were going to happen at that time regardless due to te nature of the mixed market?
