The precincts that flipped are barely correlated with Trump's margin in them!

Did someone mention this upthread... she's married to a woman and will be Oklahoma's first LGBT legislator.

Just knowing this fact, plus the fact that her opponent was undoubtedly a typical, that is to say God awful, Oklahoma Republican, makes me happy with this result. Smiley

Oh no! I'm happy there's diversity in redneck land rather than another Bible basher Republican in an overwhelmingly Republican state senate! I'm obviously not a real Republican after all!

To be fair Badger, it does seem like you're rooting for Democrats 90% of the time. Lol

He is. Badger is that 1% of "Republicans" who always vote D in the exit polls lol

I definitely wouldn't say always. Though in the age of trump it's hard to give a support to Federal candidates. I voted close to a straight Republican ticket in 2014

Bless Connie Pillich.

Well, those Clinton voters in those two precincts get their Democratic state senator.

Looking ahead to Louisiana on Saturday, the House 77 is a runoff of two republicans and the Judge District J is a runoff of two democrats, so the only contest where party control of an office is at stake is the Treasurer Runoff between Derrick Edwards (D) and John Schroeder (R). In the Jungle, the cumulative republican vote was 67%, to Edwards's 31%, with 2% for a libertarian candidate.  One thing to note is that while the LA democratic party actually went radio silent during the jungle, they are helping Edwards out in the runoff. Still, it's quite a hill to climb. I suppose the question is whether Edwards hits 40%.  So, a pretty sleepy election.

All things considered, 56R-44D was not a bad performance for the Democrat at all, given how weak a candidate he appeared to be in the primary.
