Why would he accept this job? Why not just enjoy the rest of his life relaxing by the pool?

Who on this board, if they had lots of money, would choose to become fbi director in old age?

That's somewhat my point. Isn't the FBI director the one job where you don't want some aging gasbag in there? Get someone in their late 40s, who is fresh in the mind and can think clearly.

Wow, one of the five best Vice Presidential nominees in the HISTORY of the American Republic - even higher than Tim Kaine! - is back at it again! Love me some Lieberman! Should've had the Oval, but this is a fantastic fallback story! Forcefully inserting himself into one of the most important positions for the administration. What a total legend.

Moderate hero of old but won't the Senate pick up on the fact that his firm represents Trump. This could go either way but senators are always hesitant to vote against one of their own (or formerly one of their own).

I've always felt sad that when Lieberman dies barely anyone would care enough to join me in throwing feces at his funeral procession. Hopefully his last act on Earth being a Trump stooge will cement his legacy as a shining example of everything wrong with Washington.

Is this Trump's idea of bipartisanship?

No, he probably just told him he was trying hard, was the greatest, yuge deal, etc to get it.

Given his past actions have ultimately given the GOP the advantage and given them the Oval Office twice from nowhere, this is probably the best move Trump can do to be re-elected.

Comey was fired for getting too involved in politics... and is replaced by an outright politician. No.

Promote the most capable leader they can find within the FBI. It's an elite agency, there must be people who can do the job.

It's almost like Trump is consciously trying to make the worst possible decisions he can think of at this point.

This.

What a despicable embarrassment.  I'm from Connecticut.  Connecticut is known for very few things, but everybody instantly recognizes it every time this scumbag's name is mentioned.
