I doubt this seat will be anywhere close to flipping, it's Alabama.

I doubt this seat will be anywhere close to flipping, it's Alabama.

People said the same thing about Massachusetts in 2010.  If a Republican health care bill passes the Senate by December and Moore is the nominee or Strange's scandals get worse, all bets are off IMO.  I am increasingly starting to believe this is the most likely 51st Dem seat in 2018.  Of course if a Dem did win it, they would be toast in 2020 unless it is the next 1932.

Muslim Ellison should not sit in Congress

I certainly hope this man is neither nominated by the Alabama GOP nor becomes the Senator from Alabama. The man is clearly a fanatic. Although, I would still, unfortunately, consider this a Likely R race even if he is nominated since Alabamans are so staunchly Republican and at least tolerant of such fanatical right-wing Christian beliefs.

Clearly he had anxiety about the economy when he wrote that.

Moore is an absolute piece of human feces, but it really won't matter when your GE opposition has no infrastructure. Congrats Senator Roy Moore *barf*

Roy Moore's pretty popular in Alabama and I think the talk of him losing is moreso a sign of nervous Democrats (who see a genuine Dominionist in the United States Senate, which is valid) than it is actually a concern. 56% of Republicans have a favorable opinion, 28% have negative, and 11% have none.

30% unfavorable among Republicans is pretty bad, but it's only 10 points higher than Luther Strange (50/16/28) who won his elections in 2010 and 2014 handily. So I think Judge Moore will be fine.

Dear Lord Almighty, please don't let Roy Moore get elected to anything else. Hasn't he done enough damage already?

After Brooks' disgusting ad, I'm glad I'm backing Strange.

I beg the people of Alabama to think before voting for Roy Moore.  Luther Strange and Mo Brooks would be BY FAR better senators and human beings to elect.

Not sure why this hasn't been mentioned. Former U.S Attorney Doug Jones is the likely Democratic Party nominee.

New poll: AL GOP USSEN (Cygnal): US Sen Luther Strange 30%, ex-AL Chief Justice Roy Moore 26%, Cong Mo Brooks 16% ... all others way behind

If a Democrat wins by 2 or 3 or so against Strange or Moore, what are the odds of that person getting reelected in 2020, especially with Senate control potentially being at stake? Which credible Republican candidates could run?

2020? Who cares? Worst case scenario, it's one more vote against taking away people's healthcare / birth control / (insert rational policy) and one more vote toward removal from office.

This is all assuming that the poll published was scientific.  The website it comes from is sending up red flags.

What scares me is that most of the Mo Brooks crowd will probably jump to Moore in a runoff.

Rep. Brooks offers to drop out of Alabama Senate race to clear way for Sessions

(Oddly though, he was referring to Pete Sessions, the Texas Republican Representatives. Go figure.  Cheesy Just kidding)
