Question: If we had term limits prior to the 1930s, would Democrats still have controlled the presidency for a similar amount of time? Further, if we had no term limits post-WW2, would Republicans have controlled the presidency longer during the Reagan era?

I'm actually not so much concerned about a strict 20 year limit rather than your idea of how long Democrats would have held control had there been term limits back then, and how Republicans would have fared if there were no term limits in the 80s+ and maybe Reagan being somewhat younger.

Thoughts?

The only tough one would have been 1940.  I think it's still a Dem win as an open seat, but probably only a 2012ish Dem win in the PV, which would have been tighter than it looked given the insane EC bias back then.
