wikileaks' french lawyer is disgusted by the publishing of this nothingburger.

even the intercept isn't buying it.

I sincerely hate the Kremlin for this. I mean I've always hated them but never has my hatred of them ever been more justified. I hope on the day of judgment, God's final judgment on them is to toss them into the lake of Gehenna. Putin can take his place next to Adolf Hitler.

So it turns out the best way to make French people angry is to say that chocolatine is gross. Which it is!

I find this highly offensive.

I know, right? We aren't in Toulouse here, so please use the correct terminology, which is pain au chocolat

Thank you!

Also, turnout is surging in overseas France. Time to obliterate the fascist.

In Montreal, there's a 1.5 mile long line of voters outside the consulate:

Wouldn't it be better to allow postal voting for French voters abroad ?
I have friends here who waited for hours on end to vote in the first round.

As I said last round, it would be quicker to drive to the embassy in Ottawa and vote there!

Even Wikileaks is admitting that the leaks will have no effect on the election. It's a complete election-media blackout. Russia's interference came far too late.

I really really want to believe this, but I just think French pollsters did too good of a job on April 23rd.  I still want her to win but am losing hope.

Michigan got polled by so many amazing firms, like the pollster ARG, widely known for its credibility and calling 99% of races correctly.

National polls (which were accurate) do not equal State Polls (which were horrible), American polls (mixed record, as stated earlier) do not equal French polls (shockingly accurate in the first round), ect. ect.

So I cast my Flawless Beautiful vote (which I'm no doubt going to curse myself for throughout the next 5 years) today at the polling station in Burbank. The poll workers said turnout was way up from the first round, so that's encouraging. I also couldn't help rummaging through the dustbin inside the voting booth, and unsurprisingly I found a dozen of Le Pen ballots there and only one for FBM.

The ballots are called "bulletins" and are actually small cards with one for each candidate. When you go up to vote, you take all of them, go into the booth, and insert the candidate for whom you wish to vote into the envelope. I suppose you trash the rest!

You can either trash them or take them home, yeah. I usually take them home and keep them as memories (I did that for the first round), but this time I just crumpled Panzergirl and threw her in the trash where she belongs. So at least one of the two candidate got what they deserved from me.

Oh yeah, I totally agree that a primary poll in a state that had never had a competitive Democratic primary before and has proven difficult to poll in the past is totally comparable to a national general election poll taken for the second round after a very accurate first round. Astounding point.

I wouldn't be surprised if LePen beats the polls by a bit, but I won't buy a 20% polling error until I see it. France will be Flawless and Beautiful Purple heart tomorrow.

Thanks for the info! It seems like that is incredibly wasteful (both of paper and money), especially in elections with more than two people. That's tens of millions of waisted "bulletins" every election.

I assume that ca. 600k French abroad (excl. Overseas territories) will vote and Macron gets 85% of their vote and net more than 400k votes ...

Fun comparison:

France will have some 38 million votes cast today.

CA and TX, who also have a population of 67 million, had just 23.6 million votes.
