In 2000, Al Gore is declared the winner of Florida, and therefore wins the Presidency of the United States. Where does the country go from there?

43. Albert Gore (D-Tennessee), 2001-2009

The 45th Vice President of the United States became President right after his 8 years as VP. Gore's presidency is noted for the handling of the response to the 9/11 attacks as well as the decision not to invade Iraq despite critics from the Senate including newly elected Senator George W. Bush (R-Texas). Many analysts say that Gore would not have won re-election in 2004 if it weren't for 9/11.

44. Mitt Romney (R-Massachusetts), 2009-2013

The former Governor of Massachusetts threw his hat into the ring in 2008 to un-sit a Democrat after 16 years of Democratic White House control. Romney's presidency is regarded as weak and ineffective. Romney did not run for re-election in 2012 after citing weak support from his own party.

45. John McCain (R-Arizona), 2013-2018

Senator John McCain was elected in 2012, and was re-elected in 2016. McCain was a very good President, but passed away in 2018 from brain cancer.

46. George Pataki (R-New York), 2018-2021

Pataki was McCain's Vice President and did nothing.

47. Hillary Clinton (R-New York), 2021-present

Mrs. Clinton was elected in 2021, and is currently serving.

45. Donald Trump (R-NY) / Mike Pence (R-IN) (2017-2021)
2016: def. Hillary Clinton / Tim Kaine, 306-232
2020: lost GOP primary

46. Mitt Romney (R-UT) / Nikki Haley (R-SC) (2021-2025)
2020: def. Joe Biden / Kamala Harris, 274-264

47. Kamala Harris (D-CA) / Pete Buttgieg (D-IN) (2025-2029)
2024: def. Nikki Haley / Cory Gardner, 350-188

probably gonna make a timeline about this eventually, might not be exact but close to it.
