Ds is the Democratic Socialist Party, which was founded in 2027 due to Bernie Sander's dissatisfaction with the Conservative ideals that had taken over the Democratic party after Bredesen. It didn't run in the 2028 election due to it being brand new, but it picked up every Democratic state that was won in 2028 in the 2030 midterm Election and took away the Democratic states that were the most progressive/socialist in nature. Warren took over after Bernie's death in 2030.

Perot/Stockdale: 67/20%
In 2004, Stockdale was suffering from advanced Alzheimer's - he died the next year.

Since the POD is in 1948, I think that Stockdale's Alzheimer's has been butterflied away for at least a few years.

2019- a year of chaos

45: Businessman Donald J. Trump / Governor Michael Pence (2016- June 6, 2019)
*Trump is shot and killed during a rally, Pence is inaugurated*
46: VP Michael Pence / None (June 6, 2019-June 11, 2019)
*Pence is shot and killed on the capitol steps, presumably about to announce his VP pick to congress*
47: Senator and President Pro Tempore Patrick Leahy / Representative and House Speaker Tim Ryan (June 11, 2019-November 12, 2019)
*Leahy has a heart attack and is forced to resign*
48:VP Tim Ryan / ? (November 12, 2019 - 202?)

In a situation like that, America would definitely be a Weimar Republic analogue

So there hasn't been a Democratic President to serve two full terms since FDR?? Why?

Bobby fails in Vietnam peace talks and a Scandal involving the Secretary of State and a prostitute led to him falling in popularity, though Goldwater won through the House as it was a tie in 1972

Carter has a lot of problems as him increasing taxes suddenly leads to the US Economy going into a recession, multiple businesses closing their doors and moving away, and non-intervention in Afghanistan lead to the Soviets taking it over, making him incredibly unpopular and losing in a landslide to Baker.

you saw what happened to Brown

Secretary of State Kerry just wasn't strong enough to stop Mattingly after his ties to Brown's failed administration and Gore has the same thing

Wilson is the VP of a popular President Dean and Obama are seen as too Liberal for a country that's somewhat more moderately Conservative by now

Biden has a lot of problems, from his many, many gaffes, to just being rude and disliked in General

Why do the Republicans have a 24 year hold on the Presidency?

DeSantis goes LBJ on McAuliffe

Harris barely loses to DeSantis after he runs on their accomplishments

John James is seen as an African American JFK and he faces two of the worst candidates in Presidential election history in both of his elections

Nikki Haley is able to cruise to victory on a platform of the moderate policies that John James started and are popular as opposed to Beto's extremist ideas (Haley paints Beto as such, he's not an extremist)

Hood defeats Haley because the Nation is finally sick of Republicans being in control

Okay, I'll bite. How the hell did an unabashed Nazi win the Dem nomination in '68?

He was Governor of VA from 1962-1966 and U.S. Senator from VA from 1966-1968. Also, he was a key figure in helping Humphrey get the Nomination in '64 and hadn't let it slip that he was a fascist until the day after he was re-elected in 1972. By that point in time, he's already primaried most in his party who opposed him and those who oppose him in the GOP have their hand dirty from the Disney admin.

PD - People's Democrat : Founded in 1831 by President Andrew Jackson and his supporters, they were more populists who believed in the ideas of Democracy, hence their name.

C - Constitution : Founded in 1845 from the ruins of the People's Democrats, they were extremely pro-slavery southerners or anti-abolition moderate northerners.

F & PW - Frontier and Popular Will : New Parties formed for Former President Davy Crockett (Frontier) and President King (Popular Will) made up of themselves and their supporters from their original parties (Whig and Constitution respectfully). Only existed for the 1848 Election. Afterwards, disbanded and rejoined their original parties.

U & D - Unionist (1860) and Democrat : New Parties formed following a split in the Constitution Party over Slavery during the 1860 Election with Northerners and anti-secessionist Southerners joining the Unionists and the Pro-Secession Southerners joining the Democrats. Formed only for the 1860 election, though the Unionist Party would briefly be revived to be used as a ticket between President Burr and future VP Carlile.

WDYT of this so far? (I'll add more to it later)

*- The OTL Scandal still happens per OTL. Hart resigns in disgrace at the pressure of President Mondale, Senate Majority Leader Byrd, and Secretary of State Cranston. He would then become Secretary of Defense 1993-1997 and would run for President in 2000 against Fritz Hollings, Bill Bradley, Joe Biden, and John Glenn, placing last.

**- Lost in 1986 to Congressman since 1983 Henry McMaster and was given the spot as a placeholder for Gore, which he was fine with. Would become Secretary of Commerce 1989-1997 and was a Presidential Candidate in 2000, placing third.

***- Was selected in 1988 after heavy consideration between Mondale Campaign Manager and former Arkansas Governor Bill Clinton, Massachusetts Governor Michael Dukakis, and him, though he was successfully pushed forward by Hollings, Hart, Cranston, and Byrd. Considered mounting a bid in 2000, 2004, 2008, and 2020.
