35. George Wallace (Democratic Party; 20 January 1961-3 July 1967)

A COUP in Washington, D.C. overthrows President Wallace led by a multiracial coalition of Socialists, Black Power activists, and other liberal forces. Wallace and his "Stand in the Schoolhouse Door" gang are arrested for inciting a riot and face trial. They are pardoned after the election of President Martin Luther King, Jr. who is assassinated only a few weeks later.

36. Martin Luther King, Jr. (Liberation Party; 3 July 1967-4 April 1968)

The assassination of Dr. King on 4 April 1968 signals the beginning of a political bloodbath in the United States, as the newly-elected Democratic President Lyndon B. Johnson orders a "coup" against the newly elected Liberal President. Dr. King and eight other members of his Cabinet and legislative branch of government are imprisoned for insurrection, sedition, and other "un-American" acts, and their assets are seized by the State and given to various private power. They are sentenced to life in prison, with the possibility of parole after serving 15 years, on the charge of inciting insurrection against the government of the United States.

37. Edward Brooke (Liberation Party; 4 April 1968-11 July 1969)

Brooke was Dr. King's Vice Presidential candidate in 1968, and he had to be voted in under the name of his running mate after the original ballot was declared null and void by the courts. He was appointed on 4 April 1968, four days after Dr. King was assassinated. He was removed by Governor of Maryland, Marvin Mandel, in the summer of 1969, when the Baltimore Sun revealed that Brooke had sexually harassed many women at the Howard University while he was a graduate student in the early 1950s, an allegation he steadfastly denied. Brooke was allowed to run as an Independent, but was never elected to any office.

38. Harold Stassen (Conservative Party; 11 July 1969-20 January 1973)

Stassen was a former Vice President of the United States, who was replaced as VP in 1964 by Barry Goldwater, the candidate of the Conservative Party. While in office, he oversaw the Vietnam War, the first United States war against Indochina. After the 1968 election of President Stassen was forced out of the Vice Presidency by the Democratic Administration. Following his removal he ran as a "Progressive Conservative" which was the name of the Liberal Party during the time Stassen was VP.

39. Huey P. Newton (African-American National Liberation Front; 20 January 1973-30 December 1989)

Born in Algiers, Louisiana, on 16 June 1934, Newton was a co-founder of the Black Panther Party in 1966. In 1989, the FBI arrested the Panthers on murder charges in a case that ultimately was dismissed due to prosecutorial misconduct. In December 1989, the same year as the murder trial and dismissal, Newton was shot and killed by San Francisco police.

40. George W. Bush (Socialist Party; 30 December 1989-3 February 1993)

Bush switched allegiance from the Republican Party to the Socialist Party before being elected the 38th President of the United States. He is the first of the Bushes to hold office.

41. Bill Clinton (American Independent Party; 3 February 1993-28 February 1993)

Clinton holds office for the shortest time of any American President. He had to step down due to allegations of sexual assault and obstruction of justice. He was impeached and convicted by the U.S. House of Representatives for lying about his sexual affairs with White House intern Monica Lewinsky. After his impeachment he became a Democrat.

42. Monica Lewinsky (Green Party; 28 February 1993-23 January 2001)

Lewinsky is a former White House intern, who is indicted on six counts of sexual misconduct with the President of the United States, after giving testimony during his impeachment proceedings. She is convicted and sent to prison for six months, and serves three years on probation. President Clinton pardons her just before leaving office.

43. Al Gore (Socialist Labor Party; 23 January 2001-3 August 2001)

A coup d'état overthrows President Gore and puts Colonel Gadaffi in his place. President Gore is taken captive by Colonel Gadaffi, who is then released three months later, after the U.S. government re-enters the war in Somalia, leaving him in no position to continue his rule.

44. Muammar Gaddafi (Al-Fatah Union; 3 August 2001-13 March 2011)

Gaddafi traveled to the United States in August 2001 to carry out a coup against Al Gore, and took over as President of the United States. While serving as President, he changed the name of the country to the "Socialist Islamic Republic of Libyan America," and moved to the Libyan capital of Tripoli in 2010. However, Gaddafi was deposed by an uprising in February 2011, after a military conflict which claimed the lives of at least a thousand Libyan civilians, and the displacement of up to 400,000 more.

45. Bill Clinton (Democratic Party; 13 March 2011-7 January 2017)

Clinton re-takes the oath of office after Gaddafi was ousted from power. He is re-elected for a second term before being impeached again. Clintonis impeached for allegedly misleading Congress about his continuing relationship with Monica Lewinsky, after the release of an investigative report that showed the sexual misconduct was a "slam dunk," and "on a scale of 1 to 10, Clinton was a 12".

46. Morgan Freeman (Socialist Labor Party; 7 January 2017-11 March 2019)

Freeman is elected President by a Democratic majority in Congress after the impeachment of President Clinton. He implements a "Health Care for All" program and a $20 an hour minimum wage, but he is impeached and replaced with his Vice President, before his final term expires. Freeman announces his plans to run for President in 2024.

47. Loretta Lynch (Reform-Independent Party; 11 March 2019-1 January 2021)

Lynch takes office after the impeachment of President Freeman. During her term, she orders the development of the DeathStar, which she says will "blow up the Moon" and "destroy all life on Earth." She is not re-elected.

48. Benjamin Netanyahu (Center-Right Party; 1 January 2021-present)

Netanyahu's election as President of the United States in 2020 is called "undemocratic," and is protested by the President of the United States, and the Congress. However, a Supreme Court ruling that the election was legitimate puts Netanyahu in power.

As someone who created his account on this site in part because I saw the original timeline while lurking... 𝘽 𝘼 𝙎 𝙀 𝘿

But anyways, here's a completely unrelated list:

Time To Buy And Time To Lose

POD: John Wilkes Booth is turned down for a play he really wanted in late 1863, and decides to assassinate Lincoln seventeen months early. Also, a more successful Reconstruction leads to Black voters in Southern states not being widely disenfranchised, leading to the GOP doing better in the South.

Vice Pres. Hannibal Hamlin (R-ME) / VACANT[1] - 1863 – 1865
Pres. Hannibal Hamlin (R-ME) / Sen. Alexander Ramsey (R-MN) - 1865 – 1869
Fmr. Sen. James A. McDougall (D-CA) / Gov. Oden Bowie (D-MD) - 1869 – 1873
Pres. James A. McDougall (D-CA) / VACANT[2] - 1873 – 1874
Sen. Matthew H. Carpenter (R-WI) / VACANT[3] - 1874 – 1877
Gov. Benjamin F. Conley (R-GA) / Sen. William Windom (R-MN) - 1877 – 1881
Gen. George Stoneman (D-CA) / Fmr. Rep Abram Hewitt (D-NY) - 1881 – 1889
Vice Pres. Abram Hewitt (D-NY) / Sen. Daniel W. Voorhees (D-IN) - 1889 – 1893
Gov. Lafayette Gregg (R-AR) / Sen. Roderick R. Butler (R-TN) - 1893 – 1901
Gov. Charles A. Culberson (D-TX) / Fmr. Rep. John E. Osborne (D-WY) - 1901 – 1909
Sen. Albert J. Hopkins (R-IL) / Sen. Harry A. Richardson (R-DE) - 1909 – 1917
Mr. John J. Astor IV (D-NY) / Gov. Samuel M. Ralston (D-IN) - 1917 – 1921
Fmr. Vice Pres. Harry A. Richardson (R-DE) / Sen. Hiram Johnson (R-CA) - 1921 – 19??

[1] Vice President Hamlin ascended to the presidency following the assassination of President Lincoln.
[2] Vice President Bowie resigned from office due to the House beginning an impeachment trial against him for the 'high crime or misdemeanor' of being a former slaveholder and therefore unfit for office in postbellum America.
[3] President McDougall, a noted alcoholic, resigned from office to prevent being impeached and removed after it became known that, in a drunken stupor, he ordered the assault of the 1872 Republican nominee. Due to the lack of a Vice President, Senate President Pro Tempore Carpenter ascended to the presidency. Carpenter was not renominated in 1876.

Had Obama lost in 2012, they’d be talk about the 8 year curse. Harry Truman, Richard Nixon and George Bush all lost re-election or resigned (Nixon) after being elected in a year ending with 8
