Since no other discussion has taken place in quite some time, I'm going to call a 24 hour vote on this bill.

And I'll motion to extend debate.

And I'll call for an extension on the vote.

Care to explain why it is necessary?

Dude, we already have three noes, extending the vote won't do sh!t. You obviously just want to waste our time.

It will allow us to debate the issue longer.

Because I have found an expert on the penal system in Fremont to add his thoughts to the debate, and I'd like to give him time to compose his report to the delegates.

There hasn't been any meaningful discussion on this in 8 DAYS. If it was that important to you, it should have been done sooner. No excuses.

You are literally just doing this to continue sitting around and getting nothing done, and it's becoming painfully obvious to everyone.

I thought people might want to hear what others from Fremont thought.

Perhaps you should have thought about that prior to introducing this bill, or when there was still active discussion on the topic.

Too late, Ben.
If you wanted active discussion, you should have been more active within a reasonable time.

You can either vote, or I can just consider this as you abstaining.

Speaking as a former Speaker, I think we ought to consult people from Fremont.

I have not voted, and the vote is still active. I'm not quite sure how you can say much of anything here.

Are you closing the vote down early before 24 hours? You do know that's actually contrary to the rules here.

As I have said to Ben, we are voting now. If there was a legitimate concern over what the people in Fremont thought about this, it should have been done in the 8 days where there was no discussion. There was plenty of time to bring this up before then, and I will not tolerate Ben's blatant obstruction that he has been doing for EVERY bill we vote on.

If there is an issue with him discussing topics in a timely manner, maybe he should reconsider his involvement in here.

Indeed we are. And I'm continuing to debate and discuss the bill. Are you suggesting that I'm acting contrary to the rules?

The voting period is still active, and I am permitted to hold the floor and debate during this period.

There's active debate and discussion on this bill now. I don't see what's the issue with seeking consultation from Fremont citizens who will be impacted to get their say as to whether this bill has any merit whatsoever.

I'm sorry that you're frustrated here, but this is an important issue. If we're shipping our convicts to Fremont, I'd like to hear what the expert has to say and I'd like to have him address this delegation.

Another day wouldn't kill anything. If this bill waited 8 days before having a vote called, why can't it wait another?

Because you don't actually care about hearing what Fremont has to say. As I stated, if you really cared, you would have done it BEFORE I called for a vote. It's clear you only care about the fact that another one of your bills doesn't have the support you want, and instead of accepting it, you're throwing a temper tantrum and attempting to block any bills you can from being voted on because it somehow makes you feel better.

If a Labor delegate did what you are doing now when you were Speaker, I guarantee you would not be nearly as accommodating as I have to you since becoming Speaker.

The vote is remaining open, and you have until 7:51pm EST to decide whether you want to actually do your job, or keep being childish.

Actually, I was quite happy when Truman came in and commented on the bill. I'd like to get another person from Fremont if possible. I know you feel pressed for time, so I am not asking for a ton of time. I'd like to give him a day, have him come on and let him speak before the delegates.

Have I expressed displeasure with any of the laborites here for voting against my bill? It is your right to vote whatever you like.

I'm not sure what would make you say that given that I've been one of the more active delegates.

Is your criticism directed at me for seeking more consultation from Fremont? First you say that I'm not interested in their input and now you seem to be wanting me not to consult them at all.

Which is it?

You can't motion to extent debate during a final vote. Don't bother getting into a slanging match with them when it's so painfully clear what they're doing.
