Great way of going completely off subject with something not related to Atlasian politics!

Well, if you're the candidate for everyone, why would you say something mean and nasty like that to BRTD? That's not what a candidate for everyone would do.

wow. full of negative tonight, arent we? maybe we should get some sleep. that will pretty much stop this argument in its tracks. im going to take one more look around and then hit the sack. BTW i think Reese was trying to keep his comment simple. had he given a complete analysis of the whole situation, it would have been a very long, very annoying to read post. we all need sleep. at least i do anyway. good night KPhil. and good night, Max Power.

I love when people are wrong and then try to cover it up with "You should get some sleep."

Oh, oh! And then I like the line, "Casey would have give more analysis." I mean, this wasn't clear what he said and then you defended him not knowing the whole story?

Phil, really, just some objective advice... it doesn't really look good or impressive when you harshly argue every single point made against you to the death.  Rather, it really only serves to add weight to the claims being made if people perceive you as feeling that they deserve tons of attention - they'll begin to wonder why you're giving it so much of your time.  I've always personally found that really stupid claims are best thwarted simply by turning them into a joke.  It's very hard to dislike someone who makes you laugh, and it makes the claim lose a ton of credibility if you're successful.

I think you'd do better if you learned to identify what's worth your time and what really isn't.  It's okay not to give a detailed analysis of why every single claim against you is false, really.

Just some objective advice, as I said.

When someone takes a shot at me and does not have the correct information, I will respond. Everyone can clearly see that Casey mistakenly blamed my departure on my losing of an election. That's wrong. Instead of owning up to it, instead of admitting he's wrong, he goes off topic and tries to change what he said.

Thanks for dodging the point, again.

Can you do me one favor and then this whole situation can end? Admit that you did not know what Casey was saying and that he in fact did blame my departure on my losing of the election.

you know KPhil, we can back and forth all night: you saying "youre dodging the point" and me saying "you should probably get some sleep". but that would be childish. so ill you argue with yourself. Wink

You still can't admit that you're wrong. You didn't bother to read what he said. Such ashame you can't own up to your mistakes.

Well, your call.  I'm just saying that when people wake up and see you arguing this one point for six or seven pages, they're not likely to be impressed, and it's in your power to stop this debate and cast it aside as stupid at any time.

"One candidate"?  Sir, I'm going to have to alert the police to the fact that you have murdered LiberalPA, as there were two candidates last I checked. Tongue

I believe that I am the one candidate who is best suited to serve the people of this district.
I disagree. LiberalPA did not quit the forum after he lost an election.

you got pinned with scandals (which were niether proven nor dis-proven) the stress built up, and so you left.
How was it never proven?  Phil and Alcon admitted to an effort to invalidate some votes; what they did not admit was that it was a scandal.  Phil even had the balls to say that what he did wasn't unethical.  (I'm still trying to figure that one out.)

Also, to clear this up, yes Phil did quit in the middle of the electing citing that he was going to lose.  From the horse's mouth:

I said I was quitting the race because I was going to lose! I never said I was leaving fantasy politics because I was going to lose. I was leaving because I was tired of being associated with these stupid scandals.

THe most extraordinary thing is that in a couple of months it is going to be regerrymandered into something totally different, but EQUALY EXTRAORDINARY ^__^.

I will fight to keep the district as is. This really is one of the most diverse and interesting places in Atlasia and if elected, you can count on me to preserve it.

Are you running for Governor or Senator? As Senator, you have no more power to preserve the district than myself.

This thread has not really put either D2 candidate in a good light.  I'm horribly disappointed with both of you, and am glad there's a NOTA option.

Phil, I'd really consider taking Gabu's advice.  The best (by far) way to deflect an attack post and prevent a flamewar is to use a self-deprecating joke, and then just move on to something else.  It completely neutralizes the attack and you emerge the 'winner' almost every time.  Just a tip. Wink

Once again, we see the hughento attack machine in full swing. Then people wonder why others get fed up with Atlasian politics.

As for what Akno said, I think Senators have serious power on this issue when it comes to lobbying the Governors. I'll do everything in my power.

This power was in full display when I was able to retain my district.

Oh, wait...

(That said, I didn't really lobby either way)

Ok, you know what? Elected officials can have the power to influence the decisions of other elected officials but that's obviously not going over well. I apologize for trying to stand up for my district even when I don't have a vote in what happens.
