Democrats arent interested in libertarianism. Young democrats, & Berniecrats want real progressive change. They want someone to stand up to wallstreet and billionaires. They want a government to work for the working class.
The libertarian party is the antithesis of this. Libertarians want to abolish regulations and privatize everything. Nothing could be farther from what those angry with the Dem party want.

-Bingo. There is no such thing as a Democrat libertarian.
Tell that to Non Swing Voter. Tongue

-NonSwingVoter is a Democrat on the right wing of the party, not a libertarian.
He has spoken negatively about the welfare state...

Not likely as long as Dems continue to cater to type of annoying SJW crowd that thinks libertarianism and fascism are even remotely related.

People make the mistake of thinking that socially liberal and socially libertarian are the same thing. They're really not, and on some of the hot-button issues of the day this divide becomes quite clear. As long as this happens, cooperation doesn't make much sense.

i disagree.

ted cruz is far FAR more different from real libertarians (read not conservatarians like Rand Paul) than cultural liberals.

ofc the next phase of anti-free speech college bullies is once again not very friendly to libertarian ideals but that's the usual thing with extremists.

That explains away all the Democrats who lean libertarian that I know!

Jared Polis is a progressive, but he is also rich. So he's a bit of a paradox, but he obviously supports social liberalism and progressive left-leaning economic policy. I wouldnt consider that what the "Libertarians" of America are. Libertarians in america are just Classical Liberals.
