A rural, white working class voter living in the South or Midwest, but particularly in regions like the coalfields of Eastern Kentucky, West Virginia, and Pennsylvania; the rural areas of Northern Alabama, Arkansas, SE Oklahoma, or Central Tennessee; and parts of rural Minnesota, Iowa, Wisconsin, Illinois, and Michigan.

A Staten Island construction worker who tells you he is Italian American before you have even exchanged names but couldn't tell you how to make an espresso or where the Pantheon is.

Basically someone like Antonio Sabato Jr. but born in the United States.

If they voted for Kerry in 2004 and Obama in 2008 and 2012: A voter who wants universal healthcare but hates free trade even more.

If they voted for Romney in 2012: A voter who wants universal healthcare but fears illegal immigration even more.
When did he switch to voting GOP? There are very many of these people throughout the Mississippi basin.

The Dole/Hillary voter is a more interesting case.

Dole/Hillary would be Muslims and wealthy suburbanites from Connecticut or Northern New Jersey.
Who would be the last Republican nominee who these wealthy suburbanites from Connecticut or Northern New Jersey voted for?

Darien, Connecticut (very wealthy suburbanites) voted Republican all the way until Clinton 2016.

Mission Hills, Kansas remained Republican as all of the surrounding almost-as-wealthy areas flipped to Clinton in 2016.
