........from Australia.

All of 1,800 Iranian and middle eastern muslim refugees are heading your way (plus our dual citizens from the 7 countries are exempt from the order - see bottom link).

Amazingly, Trump has agreed to take them. These refugees did not pass our vetting process with regards to entry into Australia. That is, they are not genuine refugees seeking asylum because of religious persecution.

As such, due to their illegal arrival by boat, they are not entitled to resettlement in this country.

We have a zero tolerance policy on illegal arrivals.

https://www.yahoo.com/news/australian-leader-says-trump-agrees-accept-refugees-024148702.html

As for the anti-Islamic (but not really anti-Islamic) ban, Priminister Malcolm Turnbull refused to comment on the issue:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mEdAZkNTBhg

Australia has swung drastically to the right following a range of domestic issues with young islamic men from mainly Lebanon.

Our main terrorist attack was from an Iranian nutcase who executed a gay man by shooting him in the back of the head in Martin Place whilst he was on his knees begging for his life.

That could have been any gay man in Sydney. A lot of anti-Islamic feeling came from this incident.

A female lawyer also died in the attack.

And Australians with dual citizenship in these countries are exempt from the ban:

F*k off Turnbull. The boat policy is really a stupid policy, if I've seen one, then asylum seekers are locked up offshore in detention centres, in despicable conditions. I guess the dual citizenship thing is good  though.

"wow what a cuck" is all you have to say?

How about... we elected a racist, misogynist, pathologically narcissistic man as president... and we're still better than Australia?

It appears Canada will be the last refuge.  And I don't think that will last long.

Do you believe it? The Obama Administration agreed to take thousands of illegal immigrants from Australia. Why? I will study this dumb deal!

So I guess you're keeping these 1,800 people while the president makes Trumbull look weak and an idiot.

Still think Trump is right on this particular issue?

Oh yes, I'm sure everyone fleeing persecution has been sure to go through all the proper bureaucratic channels while they run for their lives!

Lots of Christians and others among the boat people who've been rounded up and imprisoned on postapocalyptic Nauru, not just Muslims. Not all middle eastern either. There's this place near Australia called Southeast Asia, y'know?

The refugee camps in Nauru seem more inhumane than simply deporting them, somehow. The whole international community should be shaming Australia, but instead most people have never heard of the issue.

The whole international community should be shaming Australia, but instead most people have never heard of the issue.

No one wants child refugees drowning at sea. 1,200 people thereabouts drowned at sea in the last left wing phase of government and all of the children in detention are from that era. So you are talking about a policy change that puts 300 children at the bottom of the Indian Ocean.

No one is going to reverse the policy and let them in through boat arrival.

The issue has been well sought through.

If illegal boat arrivals know that they will be resettled in Malaysia or Indonesia, Nauru or Manus.

It's also an incredibly popular move once you secure your border.

Labor (left wing) never raise the issue anymore publicly because they know they will get hammered.

So shaming Australia and reversing that policy sends refugee children to their death (by drowning) and puts lives at risk.

Do you think the Indonesian boat captains care about small children from Iran and Iraq when they collect $20,000 each for the illegal boat ride?

It does not matter what I think of Trump.

But it is now super big news over here:

Top story on radio, TV and internet. I think Australian's would be delighted to get some airtime on the world's top Twitter account.

Honestly, we are nowhere near as politically invested as you guys.

That is why we have to come to your political forum to have any chance of a remotely interesting discussion on these issues.

US politics is just Comedy Central at the moment. It writes itself.

Whether we want to make asylum seekers drown is irrelevant, and I assure you, that is not our intent. The border policy, of lock people in Manus Island and Nauru, with despicable living conditions, lack of medical care towards the people there, not free speech to report on what actually happens there, and the fact that human rights groups have condemned such prisons as inhumane, quasi-torture camps.

We have had no illegal boat arrivals under the Abbot/Turnbull setup.

No children drowning in the Indian Ocean watching their parents drown.

No children in offshore detention since the date of the policy introduction.

No illegal boat arrivals since the policy changed.

It works.

Even Labor are simply debating now which countries should help provide relief with offshore detention.

I agree the conditions are crap, but I am not a fan of children in detention or children drowning at sea.

It needed to change, it did, and it works. It was and still is the most effective immigration policy, and you don't even need a wall.

Once you remove the chance of re-settlement, they dont even try. They queue up with all the legitimate refugees and come in legally.

And no noise from Labor about the issue. So the chances or reversing this policy are long past.

Again, we push the boats, back to perimeters to where we don't know if people have drowned or have not.

There are still children in offshore detention in awful conditions, and let's not even pretend, that you need these despicable conditions for off-shore detention, to punish these people from fleeing persecution to STOP THE BOATS. There are reason journalists are banned to enter such sites, as are reasons, to why any social/medical worker has to sign form, not to report on the conditions on such detention centres.

Every single child in detention was put there by Labor.

Conditions could be better, no question.

The pre-existing policy resulted in their current situation.

Pushing boats from foreign countries like Indonesia back to Indonesia is a policy that may upset you, but it saves lives. They don't even try to get here now.

Nah, you act pretty pro-Trump in general while trying to act unbiased (you aren't, by a long shot). You should own up to it. Even if he just made your Prime Minister look like an idiot and embarrassed Australia by hanging up on the Prime Minister 25 minutes into a conversation.
