In this hypothetical scenario, Trump declines to run for re-election due to ill health. He finishes his term, but chooses not to make an official endorsement of his VP Mike Pence during the primaries due to rumored tensions during his term. Trump has continued an aggressive policy agenda that he started during his first week and has provided him with a sustained approval rating of 40-45% and very strong disapproval of 50-55%. The GOP barely held their majorities in 2018, largely attributable to the favorable seats they held in the Senate, but were left with a very narrow majority in the House. The Democrats are energetic and mobilized behind a clearly cosmopolitan, multicultural, and progressive agenda. The Republican establishment is divided over Trump's legacy, while their base has embraced it, thus causing new divisions within the party.

Edit: It should say Justin Amash, I know.

If Ryan runs he will probably win.  He's the best out of that group at bulls***ting people, and Republicans love being bulls***ted.

I know this much. A cosmopolitan, multicultural, and progressive agenda, is exactly what the Democrats DON'T need.

Probably Cotton, since he seems to be embracing Trump.
