You know... like Rubio... if you're going to make a stand on how bad a nominee is in confirmation hearings, then actually follow up with it instead of being a toothless tiger.

I actually agree with her point - there are, sad to say, way worse nominees that deserve more attention, especially if no Republican was going to back away from supporting Carson anyways.

This was a bad decision on her part, honestly, if she plans on running for President.

Then she shouldn't have given so much attention to Carson with her previous comments.

And really, it's not costing her anything to vote "no" instead of "yes."

It's good for Trump to have a black guy in his cabinet.

Nothing wrong with taking her time pointing out things wrong with his nomination but still accepting that it actually very well could be worse if he were denied. I'd say if Carson was guaranteed to be confirmed, then voting no would have been strategically wise for her 2020 ambitions, but other than that it doesn't make any difference.

That being said, I think it would be wise for Warren to be more strategic about her voting practices, at least for the time being, seeing as many liberals are currently frothing at the mouth and out of anger, demanding in many cases unwise political decisions.

Carson, a person who could very well get over-whelmed with the job quickly, is definitely better than some Heritage foundation hack who knows the department in and out and knows how to strip it for parts.

Carson looked an incompetent fool & he is possibly one of the most idiotic unqualified people nominated. Warren grilled & was show-boating.

She should have voted against Carson.

100% agreed. I think that the Democrat's current political capital is enough to deny one cabinet appointment the position, perhaps two if Trump's approval numbers continue to tumble.

It's good for Trump to have a black guy in his cabinet.

For the love of God, it doesn't matter if you are black, white, brown, or any other color. Ben Carson was picked because President Trump believes in him and wants to work with him. Race isn't important at all, it is all about what the person believes in. Ben Carson wasn't picked because he was black, it was because the President wanted him.

Ben Carson wasn't picked because he is black. The HUD Secretary was though.

This idea that Ben Carson is an idiot when he ran the neurosurgery department at one of the world's leading hospitals and ran a successful non-profit is ridiculous. He is obviously not the best speaker (although he is charming in his own way) but that does not disqualify him from running HUD. He is a pragmatic guy who will treat his office with respect.

Right!

While Bernie Sanders demonstrated much more credibility when it comes to Trump's nominees by asking a question Besty DeVos has not been able to answer to during Senate hearings.

No excuse for voting for any Trump nominee.

Well, every single Democratic Senator has now voted to confirm at least one of Trump's Cabinet picks.

Well, I can see myself voting to confirm some of them too, since we need posts filled.

This argument doesn't make sense, seeing as the posts can be filled even without Democratic support. There are other arguments in favor of voting for Trump nominees though.

He is an idiot for anything outside his medical practice. I saw him in a debate where he said a 10 or 20$ flat tax would lead to 10 or 20% tax to gdp ratio - It was the dumbest thing ever consider GDP is revenue & not profit & a corporate will be paying taxes on profits & not goods sold. Millions of seniors & children who contribute to GDP but will not earn or will pay low taxes, people on welfare etc.

That was an embarrassment - Any1 who knew a shred about the economy will laugh @ that idiotic response - That is a POTUS candidate.

And Obamacare is the worse thing than Slavery. Joseph created Pyramids to store grains. Gay marriage is satanic & what not BS.

I mean there is a legitimate argument to a flat tax causing GDP growth, as an economist I don't think I'd be chuckling about a flat tax spurring GDP growth. The current GDP to tax ratio is about 27% any tax change that would lower taxes overall and spur economic growth would put tax/GDP at 10-20
