With the passage of the Regional Party Label Act, I have created this thread to allow citizens of Fremont to create and enroll in regional political parties.

What is a Regional Party?
According to Section 1 of the Regional Party Label Act, regional parties are uniquely Fremontian political groups organized to contest local elections in the Commonwealth of Fremont. Separate from national political parties, regional parties exist to draw attention to issues specific to our region and to celebrate Fremont's unique culture and history.

Can I Enroll in a Regional Party Without Changing My Federal Party Registration?
Yes. Regional parties exist solely at the local level - they do not contest elections for federal office - so it is perfectly acceptable for citizens enrolled in a regional party to retain membership in a national political organization.

How Do I Enroll in a Regional Party?
Citizens wishing to join a regional party should do so in this thread. In order for your registration to be considered valid, you must give your forum username and the name of the party you wish to register with. No other information is required.

Just FYI, this thread is only for regional party registrations (a regional party being something of a local political coalition, along the lines of the NPL in North Dakota). I suppose you can create a regional party that shares its name with a federally-established party, but legally speaking, the two entities must remain separate in order to gain ballot recognition (i.e. there would be a regional PRDC and a federal PRDC, but the two could not consult each other).

(by the way, I read something about a Fremont by-election. I don't know in what thread to ask this, but could someone explain to me what and when is that?)

MFP Ted Bessell resigned his seat as he was elected to the House of Representatives. The selection of a permanent replacement will be July 24–26. (In the meantime, former First Minister Scott has been appointed to serve in the interim.)
