I don't think BRTD knows a single thing about Ecuador beside "muh Assange"

Hot Take: BRTD enjoys being an art project.

Otherwise...Ecuador is a nice contrast to Venzuela and i hope, it could survive with both outcomes.

Mostly cause i think, a "left revolution" is only really good, if it can survice government change.

Good to see you're supporting a right-wing candidate.

I'm supporting a center-right candidate over a de facto (per support of Assange) far right candidate.

According to a Cedatos exit poll, Lasso has won the election. However, according to a Perfiles de Opinión exit poll, it is Moreno who has won the election. The night will be long...

Do these polls have an agenda, or is one of them more reliable?

Cedatos has been accused by the government of being biaised against the AP but quite accurately predicted the results in the first round. IIRC, Perfiles de Opinión slighlty overestimated the result of Moreno in the first round.

Here the full results of the exit polls:

Perfiles de Opinión
Lenín Moreno 52.2%
Guillermo Lasso 47.8%

Cedatos
Guillermo Lasso 53.02%
Lenín Moreno 46.98%

well, if your own "revolution" isn't going down in flames if the oil price goes down, you are also able to stay in power.

kudos, comrade lenin!

Correa also called the first round as an outright victory for Moreno before late returns were more favorable to Lasso; counting votes takes a while, and according to the government website the "Conteo Rapido" has not even begun yet. Spanish news sites on the internet are also so far reporting only the exit poll results. So Moreno has not actually won yet.

According to El Universo, with 91% of the vote counted, the result is Lenin 51.04% Lasso 48.96%

Here is the official government website, which seems to believe they haven't started counting: https://resultados2017.cne.gob.ec/frmResultados.aspx

Here is El Universo, indeed reporting that Moreno leads 51-49 with 93% reporting, but most of the provinces are still under 50%, which seems suspicious to say the least: http://www.eluniverso.com/resultados-elecciones-ecuador-presidente-2017

El Universo's Twitter account is showing pictures of Lasso's supporters celebrating the results of the exit polls in the streets of Quito; would be darkly amusing to say the least if he ended up losing.

Somehow whoever posted this found a way to get results from that website.

With 95% Reporting, Moreno still has a 51-49 lead. I'm finding it hard to see how Lasso comes back. 200,000 votes is a lot to make up.

Lenin currently at 51.1%

Would be nice if he'd increase his share to 51.8% because then my prediction would be spot-on.

My turnout estimate was a bit off though: 88% vs. 83% in actual returns
