What percentage of African American voters would Tulsi get in a general election?

BTW, Blacks' favorite Republican candidate in 2012 was... Ron Paul.

Don't know. Our demographic would vote overwhelmingly for her obviously, but turnout is what scratches my head.

They would like her, in general majority of voters just like a candidate that battles the Establishment because most voters feel that current politicians are too deep in special interests.

Not necessarily. Keep in mind that Black primary voters generally vote support the "establishment" candidate and will do so by large margins (Hill v. Bern; Kerry v. Others; etc.). However, that could change in the next couple of years.

I think it will. After this election the party-bases will want to unite. Most average American voters are sick of "establishment" types.

The real question is how many voters period would support a back bench congressman with no name ID and no fundraising apparatus, in what I suspect will be a more crowded field

That honestly will give her enough gravitas because of voter's short attention span. Plus, I feel like what she did was not only brave, she was right. They did their best to rig it, Debbie was promised something and it was probably a Cabinet position. Bernie really f'd up by "not giving a damn about the e-mail's" He should've gone after her, but Bernie had a long-game plan for the whole thing. It's working out for him with the party, he has a huge say in things now but he didn't want to upset the apple cart. He screwed up, us voters didn't like what Hillary was saying which was absolutely nothing but name-calling.

In a primary or general? In the general they'd obviously support her pretty strongly but in the primary...who knows?

Obama '08:

Hillary '16:

Even if Tulsi or a progressive non-black candidate got wiped out by the black vote in the south, they'd still have a shot provided they could win Hispanics in the SW. Hispanic Dems voted against Obama in '08.

You don't find any parallels between Tulsi and Loretta Sanchez at all?

So...a Hispanic Congresswoman who failed to win a Senate seat made a comment somewhat critical of Islam, therefore a non Hispanic Congresswoman who's made some Islamophobic comments is a shoo in to win the Hispanic vote four years later.

Does not compute.
