I would think Michigan or maybe Arizona. I expect Atlanta to get in 2024 as Georgia will likely a true battleground by then.

Tampa, Atlanta, Houston, or Phoenix.

...Columbus was the obvious, but ignored choice last time, and should be a shoo-in if the Rust Belt gets badly damaged under trump.

After Trump's tweet about how awful John Lewis' district is... Atlanta would be a perfect pick.. both symbolically and strategically

People will probably have forgotten about it in four years time, so why?

Probably true... If so, then maybe Tampa (or somewhere in Florida... since winning  Florida  likely means Dems win the Presidency in 2020)

Detroit, at the new Little Caesars arena. That way I could be a delegate and sleep in my own bed, being 40 minutes away.

Who says it has to be a big city?  Why couldn't it be Erie, Pennsylvania?

I don't know very much enough about Erie, but obviously there needs to be a lot of accommodation for attendees and a large facility to hold the convention. Again I don't know about Erie specifically but I would guess it doesn't have the facilities to hold a major political convention.

Florida, but Northern Florida, so it doesn't give the impression of just pandering to Cubans and Puerto Ricans. Jacksonville sure swung hard this election. Maybe there?

I like the idea of Phoenix, especially because the city's name lets the party have a "rebirth of the Democratic Party" theme for the convention.

Phoenix, AZ; San Francisco, CA; and San Antonio, TX, would all be great. Two of those(San Francisco and San Antonio) are home to potential presidential or vice presidential candidates: the Castros and Newsom. Kamala Harris and Kyrsten Sinema both live in one of those states, too.
