Here's the scenario (It may be unrealistic, but just roll with me here.):

In 2008, Senator Hillary Clinton wins the nomination against Senator Barack Obama and Former Senator John Edwards (who in this timeline is more prominent during the primaries,) and basically copies what Obama does in our timeline. In the elections, she wins big in 2008, but barely wins in 2012 (due to her e-mail scandal.) She is not impeached and does not resign, but she is put in a very unpopular position. Fast forward to 2016, when former Secretary of State Barack Obama runs yet again for the presidency, running on a campaign to continue the strong leadership of Clinton, even after the e-mail slip up.

On the republican side, Donald Trump does not run, because even though he disagreed with Clinton's practices after the e-mail scandal, he still supported the President. Still though, he did consider an Independent or Democratic run. This leaves Ted Cruz, Marco Rubio, and Jeb Bush as the major contenders, and John Kasich, Carly Fiorina, and Chris Christie as second tier contenders. Fiorina and Christie drop out after New Hampshire due to lack of support, Rubio does the same after Super Tuesday I, despite being in a solid third place and rising in popularity, and finally, Kasich dropped out after losing Indiana to Cruz. Cruz won Indiana narrowly against Bush who frequently swapped first and second place with Cruz. At the end of the primaries, there was a brokered convention between Cruz/Fiorina and Bush/Kasich. Cruz ended up winning by a small margin of delegates.

So, here are the candidates:
Secretary of State Barack Obama/Senator Tim Kaine
Senator Ted Cruz/Busineusswoman Carly Fiorina

And that's my scenario, Ted isn't hindered by Trump, but Obama is brought down by the Clinton Administration. Who do you think will win? Discuss, use maps, do anything!
