How did Romney lose Staten Island in 2012 , even McCain won it! Was it just because Romney was Mormon?

Mitt Romney was damaged by the Hurricane Sandy 2012 which caused damage to Staten Island, and has four years later. He was a perfect fit for the borough, being a generic Republican, but couldn't close the deal. South Shore, S.I. likes Romney still, but they weren't so excited about him as they were for Trump. He's a little popular on the Island.

bronz4141, for the first time ever, is right. It was nothing more than a Hurricane Sandy bump.
